duel isn't only about skill, far from that :D. Actually you can have only decent combat skill like agent or yay0 and still be one of the best at duel.

in 1v1 CA if you don't get very VERY good combat skills then you can't win. As simple as 1+1.

I meet players with 50-55% lg on lolca every game, not so hard with low sens on 144hz monitor, and decent position.

What's nice about 1v1ca is that you don't need to memorize spawns or anything, you just need to outplay them.
If you're doing it with lg only, then you're just seeing who has better lg.

Tox has played Quake for over 10 years, of course he will be better at the duel gametype. If you made him play a different game with its own duel gametype, then you can see who's actually better at adapting. What I find impressive is people who can adapt to a new game in a very short period of time. e.g moving from Quake to Street Fighter/Smash, or to an RTS/military shooter. Most people cannot do that.

idoser is a teenager if I recall, so there is no way he would have the same amount of experience Tox has in Quake duel.

i beat most high elo 4v4 CA players in europe, because.... they play 4v4, not 1v1.

i'm assuming you use 3500 dpi with your 1 sensitivity, so i used http://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/ to convert your sensitivity and dpi to fit my mouse's dpi (converts to 400dpi @ 9 sensitivity)

i usually play at 3.5 sens. it was a strange experience.

do you zoom in when you LG? that's what I was doing.

the only things in ur cfg that i changed was m_forward and m_side and the keybindings

currently i'm using the abyssus 2014 at 1800dpi 500hz plug and play. So yeah, 1800dpi sens 1, which means 23.5cm/360° :)
