Because, people don't usually go by different names when they accomplish different tasks within the same community while keeping secret the fact that they are a single person. To make this hypothesis, you need to think of some ulterior motives. You have to introduce more assumptions. He collected enough minor infractions from other mods to be forum banned.

I hadn't picked up that he'd sent some email in that may have been abusive until I read more later, if that's the case then I wouldn't be surprised at all for him to have gotten a ban, though if he's lucky, and hasn't pushed things too far it may have been temporary.

From the main post it seems that he was temp banned from forum and the game. While I'm not able to verify if that fact is true, banning a person from the game for a forum post even temporary does not sound right. I would not do it and I'm working in on of the most weird IT support line I've seen so far. Banning him after that e-mail is stupid as well but this I can understand as some people just qualify this as abuse to the support which equals ban in most cases.

From that log we can see

1. temp forum only ban automatically given from accumulated minor infractions

2. 3 day account suspension from emailing support with "here's a big Texas fuck you coming from Jersey! Take the ban and shove it up your assholes, assholes!"

3. status unknown, but possibly permban from further abusive emails. If he'd had pro on his account and that was not gone now it was listed as banned then you'd know it was temporary. If he'd reverted to a free user before the ban, then we can't tell what it is.

Where I live it is possible to get a driving ban for poor parking skills or disregard for the toll system. You cannot insult someone in a parking lot or run over a parking meter without consequences, for example.

Also, the QL Forums are not a public place, but a private property of a private company. Buy registering and paying money, you have not bought the right to be a bully.
