i believe that whoever is interested in buying the perfect mouse should get that opportunity; a kickstarter allows me to invest practically nothing outside of working with a distribution center and prototyping and not just help myself, but others that are interested too.

i didn't develop the shell, just wanted to see what they had already and improve on it via revisions

i'm going to talk to the manufacturer tomorrow about fixing up some of the stuff, including adding that rubberized side to the black one (which has a rubberized top) which will reduce the weight further

probably gonna scrap the red color, it's meh but i wanted to see what they already offered

well if i knew about it, probably wouldn't have went on this endeavor. still, it's sporting a 3090; it's not perfect, might have some smoothing issues like the kana v2. the side buttons also look membrane which i really can't stand and have had terrible experience with membrane buttons on mice that die so quickly. I want this to be perfect. not to mention, stock mouse feet are 100% interchangable with ss sensei's feet

That doesnt necessarily mean that the final product will feel the same, look at finalmouse for example. Also it doesnt have any own quirks, its too much of a blatant copy of the SS versions imo.

never used finalmouse, but that's the point -- many people like myself think the ss sensei shape is perfect. the sensor is just horrible, and since the release of the xai nobody with a brain has thought to put a decent optical sensor into a similar form factor ( i guess until the newman which is very recent, but the 3310 is superior to the 3090).

Well, you can use a same/similar shape without using the same design, search for thronmax X3, that would be the one from hitbox.

There is also the chance that steelseries might get ahead of you.

Well, the differences are ofc Preference, i personally wouldnt buy for example anything with sensei shape because i dislike it, however i like WMO and IO1.1. it´s up to you.

I don't like the low front and the wide rear. Raise the front like a Diamondback and make the rear less round like a G100.

Actualy there is no brand as of today that has a very good sensor placement, in fact what they do is put the sensor at the place most sensors are because people are used to it and because it would be more costly to put it much further at the front.

Puting it more at the front has advantage on X axis stability and you have a much lower LOD because when you lift the mouse, if the sensor is realy at the front, the distance will be greater than if it is at the middle. http://imgur.com/mE4JWYI

no prototypes to OCN, first i need to actually get a production prototype which is gonna be a while because of Chinese newyear. it's not in my best interest. i will get enough to fulfill a purchase order when kickstarter comes out, the demand is there, i don't need noobs to tell me it's good when i know it is

if you honestly want to see the mouse in person, i'll be at lan ets march 6-8th, pm me if you wanna get a good look and feel of the acolyte (though i doubt a lot of people on esr will be going, it's a LoL/csgo lan)

and don't worry i dont have any reason to delay this getting out to kickstarter, i'm hoping one more prototype run with some of the issues ironed out and then kickstarter immediately after..not trying to make a buisness or anything out of it like i said, but if there's an absurd amount of demand i'll consider a round 2 kickstarter

sensor position dimensionally is the same. it's not a sensei clone shape; it's a bit longer and narrower but still kinda fat like the sensei. it looks like the sensei and feels similar but it's unique too; it's like a cross between a wmo and sensei, leaning towards the sensei. sensor is about ~6.3 cm from rear, bad picture but it's in a good spot

unfortunately we don't have the capital that finalmouse clearly does, and our approach is just a one-time kickstarter (unless the demand is enormous) at a reasonable price. we're working out the numbers now and the two options we're looking at are 39.99$ for domestic (US) including shipping and 49.99$ for international, or a flat 44.99$ regardless of location shipped...we think those numbers are doable

just because the firmware is set to 1000hz gives me no reason to think that you wouldn't be able to underclock it yourself to whatever you prefer

not sure but apparently you can lift up the mouse and when you put it back down the sensor will try to recalibrate and for whatever reason sometimes the sensitivity changes when that happens

with the current prototype no, but we're doing some firmware changes and i'll make sure this isn't a thing in the next revision
