It seems, that the best is Asus ROG Swift or the new XB270HU (IPS!). I myself am torm between buying some good 1920x1200 IPS, or waiting till the 120+hz IPS become more popular and then drop some cash at monitor good for both gaming and work till the end of time. You can spend 700$ on 2002 TN technology (ROG, BenQs), but is it worth it?
The XB270HU is the shit if you can afford it. Rog Swift isn't bad either.
More quality IPS panels should be showing up in the coming months so you might be able to get something a bit more reasonably priced soonish (something like IPS, 24", 144hz, 1080p for example)
Rog swift best one for gaming. 1440p resolution with Ulmb mode and low input lag. Feels close to crt. I have BenQ 2420g and it has noticeably more input lag than rog swift when in low motion blur mode.
We're in the same boat, I don't know when my 2233rz is going ka-put on me. If there is one thing I am in the market for, it's a monitor without a shitty bezel and a giant awkward stand like the 2233rz.
You can replace the stand so easily with any VESA stand it is ridiculous. First thing I did when getting the 2233RZ is buying a nice pivot stand for like 15€ off ebay - perfect.
