uhm, no offence, because I really like the idea of the mouse and I've supported your project on other threads, but do you actually think it will be the end of the world to anybody if it doesn't get funded? at the end of the day, it's not like there are no good mice on the market today and that somehow buying yours will make us better gamers or give us bigger dicks or something. it would be nice if your project comes to fruition, sure, but even though I would like a mouse pretty much like this, I don't ever see it realistically coming to anything, mainly because of your funding target.
Yes I know you've outlined a price breakdown below, but honestly setting your goal at 30k looks ridiculous from an outsider's perspective. 3k a person for 4-5 days work sounds pretty great to me, if you really would "love" to get this product out there then I don't see why you need to make such a ridiculous profit on something as unprofitable as fulfilling a (pretty optimistic) purchase order for a gaming mouse.

I'm still hoping that you'll see how ridiculous this looks from the perspective of the potential buyers (the people that matter in this instance), because atm I don't feel like it's worth me supporting your project since it just seems too far-fetched to ever become anything. That doesn't mean I wouldn't support it in the future tho; as I've said on previous threads, the mouse itself looks great and if it were released tomorrow I'd certainly buy one.

at the end of the day, we did this for ourselves and the kickstarter was more or less a "why not" idea

I have nothing against this project, so I'm not complaining about you being greedy or something. My point is that it is unrealistic to achieve a $30,000 goal, and since Kickstarter it's an all or nothing deal (90% = 0) then the fundraiser is not happening, at all.

Speaking of which, the point of Kickstarter is to kickstart projects, not to be their sole mean of funding. You could have done a $5,000 pledge, which is much more realistic to be achieved than $30,000, then get some sponsors/deals and then charge separately for each mice. Take the Oculus Rift for example.


About the mouse itself, I would prefer it without side buttons in order to have more space for my thumb. That's the #1 thing I miss from my WMO.

The best way would be for you to make an order, invest your own money (from your writing style and job so far I doubt you have any money, but maybe you can convince someone in your family and then share profit with them) and purchase the order and then sell the mice with a profit.

Oh I also forgot to add that you cheated the company on sending you prototypes telling them you had an intention to buy a minimum order of 1k when the prototype meets your standard.

Now since the prototype is good enough for you and you have a few you don't care about the order. You cheated the factory to build free prototypes for you with about 1% inclination of making a real order.

2) steelseries are announcing optical sensei in a matter of days

the only plus is that PCB is pretty much a finalmouse copy so i guess the implementation will be fairly debugged and well-adjusted after all their feedback

When you can visually perceive button lag you have more than enough reason to call a mouse bad.

I dont think you can really perceive the difference(or rather say that it impacts your perfomance) ingame. I've seen plenty of people who are able to shoot through dust2 CT gate opening(you would need around 150ms full eye-mouse reaction for that alone) with IME/IMO which have same lag as zowie or even with kinzu v2. I mean eye-hand human reaction is AT LEAST 10(and usually like 15) times bigger than that old zowie mice input lag. And I've not even mentioned that the mouse shell/switch hardness and finger position matter way more than that miserable mouse lag itself. Moreover overall it pretty much only matters for reaction shots, as the brain automatically adapts for flickshots and other stuff

From my experience I couldn't rail for the life of me with the zowie mice I've tried, what bothered me even more was how I could visually perceive the delay on the screen, I'd feel the button actuate but the shot wouldn't come out until 10-15ms later, I've had the same issue with the kinzu v2, and xornet 72 firmware.
Though I do agree that there's a certain threshold for how the small an amount of lag you can perceive but from my experience those particular mice were well beyond it.

EDIT: First off my reactions are on the slow side 190-200ms(with a G302), whatever lag I get from a zowie is +15ms, assuming my reactions are on point I'm wasting 15ms staring at the model.
The model has a 10/3 height/width ratio (I just took a ruler to a picture of a man standing up straight), and yes I know we're dealing with a hitbox that's bigger than the model, but it's not that much bigger than keel.
Assume Keel is 70 units tall (http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/142...its-X-Feet), so he's 21units wide with the 10/3 ratio (the ratio because of the cylinder is probably closer to 10/5, though).

The enemy already moving at 320ups you center you crosshair on the model and fire if there was no lag the shot would hit dead center but because you have that extra 15ms we have 320/1000 * 15 = 4.8units of displacement on the shot's position that's roughly 1/4 of the model's width, you aren't always going to aim dead center, you aren't always going to get a chance to do that even if you were that consistent at aiming that way, as speed increases (someone strafe jumping past a crack that you can shoot through) the amount of units displaced after that 15ms lag becomes bigger.

TL;DR, I fried my brain last year.

So, I play with an MX300. While this mouse looks similar, both in design and DPI, the shell looks hella cheap. Not to mention, you failed to mention or call-out any reference to the MX300. It's the mouse CZM used in 2006 at CPL (which he won), and has countless other successes to it's name. Also, I'm pretty sure this mouse was around $29.95 new, with a shipping weight of 1.5 LBS. The MX300 had a weight inside that many gamers removed.

Sorry to break it to you but I'd gladly pay 15 bux more for instant shipping of a product with a warranty that has respectable support and trust. At the end of the day you are going to an oem with no engineering background or team and Hoping to
