The first and only worthy successor for me (also 1.1a user for about a decade) has been the SteelSeries Sensei (I have the wireless one for convenience). Feels right in the hand and in game (unlike even the Zowie AM).

with that laser sensor? aren't you the hardcore LG guy who listens to metal and made a quake metal song? The shape of the Sensei is fine, but that laser sensor, jesus. I think it was about on par with the Razer Lachesis. Perhaps my problem was that I used it at 400dpi?

Trackaiming itself is fine with A9500/9800, flicking onto targets not so much, having 400cpi instead of 380 or 450 changes nothing in that regard.

I'm using it at 400dpi (450? Can't remember, set it up on the old PC and never installed the software on this new one), having no issues with it whatsoever. :(

I mean I have no stake in trying to convince anyone of anything, just giving my honest opinion here as a hardcore 1.1a user. Only saying to anyone looking specifically for a replacement to that particular mouse to not dismiss this one as useless just based on laser/wireless prejudice (as I might have but in retrospect am glad I didn't), and to simply give it a try if given the chance. If you don't like it, well then you know for sure and at least you didn't risk missing out because it's not like we're swimming in good WMO alternatives here.

The last and only laser mouse I used before this was the Razer Copperhead that was so abysmally garbage that it's the only computer peripheral I've ever bothered actually returning to the store because fuck that thing (not that the sensor would be its only crime).

The last and only wireless mouse I used before this was a friend's Logitech MX1000 - which I was hinting at with my "2004" reference below - and yeah that goddamn brick certainly had the delay I assume everyone still associate with wireless mice.

But even as the Zowie AM just recently barely failed to let me leave the 1.1a behind because of its shape (couldn't palm grip as I'm used to without cramping; too thin/low at the back?) and the feeling that the (otherwise great) sensor was aimed a bit further back making it less responsive to wrist movements (which I believe was always one of the WMO's greatest and most underappreciated features but I digress)...

...Even then, here I sit with the long-shot, "fuck it I'll try it" purchase of the Sensei, and I have no complaints (aside from needing to charge it every single night; easy enough with the dock but a bitch if you forget, super spoiled not having to deal with a cable now). Like I said; feels right in the hand and in game, unlike literally every other mouse I've tried so it's not that I don't have any standards or whatever (no, I can no longer find any joy in playing on a 60Hz / high latency monitor either, that's a dumb comparison).

Again, if you tried the mouse and it wasn't any good that's fine, and if you can actually express exactly what's wrong that's to the benefit of all. I can live with disagreeing as long as it's not some snarky comment from someone who hasn't even tried it. This is just my one review, and my honest-to-deity verdict is that it is the first mouse I'm unreservedly happy with since the 1.1a. If the cost of this baby are my e-credz I'll pay it gladly. :P

I have tried it and it was, for whatever reason, completely unusable with my set up. It was very snappy and felt like it had ridiculous accel, even at 400dpi/cpi which is what I have always used throughout the years. Must have been a hardware difficulty on my end though, I see many CS players playing at a high level using SteelSeries mice. Biased because of sponsorship no doubt, but they must be at least decent to be able to win sufficient sums of money off them.

Ironically I traded my Sensei for a WMO that I used for about 3 months before it eventually died, like my first WMO years prior.

Yeah my first couple of WMOs were fine for several years each but last year I had to turn to eBay (dacheng) to get new ones and while they seem legit and perform and everything the first one I used broke after only a couple of months too :/

The cord just wasn't made for low sens it would seem, no matter how marvelous it might feel to aim with

CS is about low speed precision, Variance actually doesnt matter much in that game.

Look, my apologies if I came across as a dick. Got too defensive, was just trying to give the thread starter another mouse to look into since I was in the same boat and finally found something I'm genuinely happy with. It was too early in the morning to deal with ESR.

Zowie ZA12/ZA13 seem to be the closest to the 1.1a

id honestly suggest to see which is one is best for your hand rather than to try to just buy the one thats most like WMO : ) ) )

I'd say the ZA12, the ZA13 feels a bit too slim. Though depending on your grip either could work.
