The interesting part was that all the physical copies were manufactured by stores themselves, not ID/publisher. I wonder how many releases with different boxes are there? Kinda feeling like starting to collect those things.

I really miss those massive boxes that used to house PC games in. So much craftsmanship compared to a generic dvd box.

I did meet John Romero at QuakeCon last year, and i did got his autograph on my qcon badge :D good times.

So he made no $ from Quake, sank a lot into Daikatana - how is this guy not broke..

How the hell did id make money if they gave away DOOM for free? (they even let others make money from selling it)

Also is there more to the story of why Romero left id? He says Quake was stressful but he also says that they wanted him to leave, why?
