Literally every shot in that entire Bethesda sizzle reel extreme violence. Nothing else. This is moder game design.
But saying: you can have 500 enemies on screen but the game will run at 1 fps is actually the same as saying: you can't have 500 enemies on screen.
First doom was a bunch of sprites in a 2D world ffs. Incomparable to modern day games.You say that as if that wasn't state of the art graphics at the time. It was the limit of what they could do with the processing power available.
Honestly was kinda fine with the amount of enemies on screen because doom is not supposed to even be like serious sam or painkiller, where it's always just slaughtering hordes of enemies.and
I think some people forget that Doom rarely features hordes. How many times in the original Doom are there more than half a dozen enemies at a time? Not extremely often. There's some occasional demon or zombie spamming, but again, the numbers are usually in the dozen-or-less range.
