I played some 2 vs. 2 matches against geometric a couple of weeks ago. I remember he made a comment about a new "rocket bot" and at one point said his partner was walling. I couldn't tell if he was being candid or it was all ordinary banter. Anyway the only thing that seemed suspicious was geometric hitting 360 rails seemingly on command. If he was cheating he really wasn't trying to hide it.

He's never really trying to hide it, but otoh he knows what he's doing well enough that it won't be super apparent to most people.

I also wouldn't doubt if he started this thread.

first thing came to mind : "wtf 1v1 on repent ?!"

his movements seemed quite good actually, i mean from going from point A to point B. But his dodges seemed non-existents, or just very basic dodges.

yes he hits 50%+ LG but i doubt he would it that much on a proper map vs a good dodger.

I've seen already so many accuracy whores (more than 45%) that just sudenly don't hit above 35% on good dodgers. With our current internet connections, monitors (144+hz), mice and also the fact that those who started quakelive in 2008-2010 are now playing the game for more than 5 years and against people that play quake for 10+ years, it's not surprising that more and more people now hits 45%+ (i'm talking about CA not duel). But like i said, put them in a middle of a fight against a good dodger and their accuracy might drop drastically.

Also he doesn't seem to spam the lg and most of his shots are against an "escaping" opponent. Which makes the tracking easier cause enemy movements are more "straight" backward and thus much more predictable.

That said some of the rounds looked dodgy, I mean looked like some kind of "smooth aim" or dunno how you can call that. Yes I have to admit that sometimes it looked suspicious, but not every rounds tho.
Also if the dude got banned i think there's a reason for it, so yeah could be because of cheat :)

I remember this, you can see it in the video, but it was laughable from the demo when this first surfaced. all you need is to watch it snap on to the spawned player at 1.58 in, and then it's locked onto them from that point on while they're running behind the wall, and then jumping over the gap.

And then just to clear any doubts it happens again at 2.26.

I think I remember everything after about 3 min is damning as well with cg_wh 1 in wolfcam too, but that doesn't look quite as blatant as the earlier timestamps in the video as the walls are still blocking the view when it's clearest, so I could be wrong on that one, but it doesn't really matter as the 3 bits before were conclusive.

honestly i think my LG tracking is kind of unique due to the variance cfg's i've trained with.

That is not a good example in my opinion. A lot of the LG was at YA area. The air LG you got at 22 seconds in followed by the strafe LG at 50 seconds inflated your percentage for the rest of the match. A little after that your percentage started dropping which is fairly typical for truelightning 0 there really isn't a reason to use it over truelightning 1 in overall play. What I'm more curious about is why your sensitivity is 0, cl_mouseaccel is .1 but cl_mouseaccelpower is 0. These settings will result in no mouse movement.

he's also claiming he mastered truelg 0, which is beyond stupid as 1 is the true representation of the beam with quakelive's netcode.

Been told repeatedly by sync and sponge that truelg 0 is beyond broken in QL also.

trueLG 1 is obviously better for multiple reasons, I never claimed trueLG 0 was better than 1. The fact remains that TrueLG 0 has a behavior pattern based on mouse movements. Is it broken in certain circumstances? absolutely. Is it controllable in most situations? absolutely. Can you shoot better trueLG 0 than me on your first try? Probably not. Why? Because I spent time with it. Probably more time than most. I learned the way the beam sways and how far I need to move my mouse to get it in the certain spot it needs to be in. Get rid of your crosshair, it's useless with true LG 0 in my opinion and will only make you worse.

impact sparks (up+slow fast) are also a big thing with true LG 0. It shows if your beam is landing or not. There is also a built-in 'sticky aim' with LG 0. That shit will be connected to a playermodel and do zero damage because it's broken, which is true. It's just a visual connection. But that visual connection DOES HELP with your aim because once you learn how the noodle moves you will know where to move the mouse and it becomes simple math and eventually just instinct and then it's just second nature at that point.

So yes, I am claiming I mastered true LG 0. With certain settings. Have you even tried?

What the fuck are you talking about? As you admit at the bottom of your troll post, "the beam" is an animation and changing that animation has nothing to do with where you put your crosshair. You could use 0.1 noodle beam, 0.9 beam, or no beam if it was possible, and you'd still be aiming at the same spot. Having true lightning on 0 is just a massive distraction, and doing that with no crosshair is pointless and retarded, since the shaft animation wont tell you anything useful. The only reason someone might want a lower true lightning value would be if they were playing with a ping above 80, in which case they have to lead by X milliseconds, so using slightly bendy beam would allow you to place the end of the beam directly on the enemy while your xhair would actually be leading slightly.

This is true. However I want to add that when using truelightning < 1 you disable antilag for LG, which is most likely the reason stermy uses uses .99 instead of 1. Some players may prefer straight beam but without antilag for whatever reasons. At the end of the day keeping your crosshair on enemy model will result in high accuracy.

And having a pseudo crosshair (noodle tip) that's significantly off the model (up to ~60 degrees off on 45ms as you turn) on TL 0 really isn't helping anyone.

no, you do _not_ disable antilag with truelg < 1, you change the animation as agentsm1th pointed out. and since antilag means the lg hits where the crosshair aims, you really should not use anything but 1 unless you were a die hard pro in q3 and don't want to change ;)

Except the diehard pro's in Q3 were lucky to hit over 40% with the noodle except on lan.

You don't need truelightning < 1 at all unless your ping is greater than 80. As long as server-side reconciliation is used, there is little reason to use anything other than cg_trueLightning 1. So much that I've been tempted in the past just to make it default and non-configurable.

And while the higher ping you have the more lagged your lg beam is, I don't think lowering your truelightning value to see that lag does you much good. This entire discussion is worthless. id will not explain why someone is banned. I think that is stupid as hell but that is just the way it is. For me anyone who has been banned I associate with cheating. Exception being imurq since his ban was lifted. If they were actually banned for harassment then good riddance the game doesn't need more shitheads. Why did you remove the demo(s) from a year old thread? I can't think of one good reason in your defense.

QL support definitely would tell him why he was banned... He hasn't said it outright, but it's pretty obvious they believe he has cheated. There are only a couple of cases of people being permabanned for harassment.

Saying you don't cheat? Explaining why people might wrongly think you cheat? Asking for more details about the evidence? Offering to prove you don't cheat somehow. That's what I would do if I knew I didn't cheat and got banned. A couple of people got unbanned after being 'wrongly' accused of cheating, but it's rare because cheat bans usually aren't wrong.

Trolls perhaps. Or they just don't understand that various configs and mouse settings really do result in different playstyles. Not instantly, but the more frequently you practice on a different config with different mouse settings, the gameplay of the player does change. Whether it's better or worse depends on the config. Whatever skill is better of worse also depends on the config. The person playing the config also matters.

Your accs and game performance are good, but not absurdly above the other 2200-2400 ca players, so you can't blame it on "jealousy" or something like that.

I don't really blame it on jealousy. But I can see why I would nonchalantly blabber that word out if I didn't feel like giving such a long winded explanation.

In fact I have a different strategy for playing against higher ELO players. You won't see me doing too many trick jumps or flanking or baiting. Quite frankly you'll see me dealing 300-400 damage within the first 4 seconds and then being dead, if my team didn't help me.

Playing against (can we just call it tier 5 for brevity sake) tier 5 players like that, you just want to dish out the most damage as quickly as possible. Why? Because it's CA and nobody gives a fuck. You could go into specifics and say strategy is better but at the end of the fucking day we don't have voice comms in CA pugs 99% of the time (or at least I don't). Since people are usually unreliable in passing on information, I think it's safe to assume trying to coordinate some grand scheme without voice comms is actually a detriment to your team. So in essense you just need to stick near your teammate and kill the enemy as soon as they show themselves. And yes, fucking chase their asses down. I hate when people just sit at bridge or rockets on campgrounds and think they're trying to be strategic in CA. That's cute.

What I'm more curious about is why your sensitivity is 0, cl_mouseaccel is .1 but cl_mouseaccelpower is 0. These settings will result in no mouse movement.

i love rapha's cfg, honestly. I've tried other versions of it from different lan events and learned his mouse behavior (literally studied his hand movements from IRL cameras). I also applied my own hand movements to his cfg and got some interesting results.
