Nope, because I stopped watching any games to stop being depressed at all at how much modern games suck, but I always end up watching some Quake by the summer when QCon happens.
By watching Quake, you get reminded that what become huge was trash like CoD and LoL instead of the greatness of Quake, which triggers a mixture of sad feelings. As you can see my point makes perfect sense and this should reply to the other haters down there.
No, reflex is bad because it has GUI timers and no enemy brightskins and no force enemymodel and force enemy skins, aesthetically it will suck ass compared to Q3 as well. Cooller saying so just confirms it even more.
you are cheap propaganda. Your precious quake isn't touched, you can still play and enjoy it because reflex didn't touch it, turbo pixel has nothing to do with quake itself. They are free to make their own DM game as they please. Comparing reflex with quakelive is unfair anyway, Reflex is there in early stage with 3 people working on it while quakelive used q3 as starting point with a well known company in the background.
It just seems you're like "afraid" reflex overtakes quakelive so you spread shit around forums hoping people turn his back to the newer game. Don't worry, I don't see that happening either anytime soon, so no reason to hate, I just say you shouldn't focus on the minor details of reflex at the current state and see the bigger picture. They are doing a great job so far, If I were reflex coder i'd be pretty sad to work hard on the lua update just to hear people complaining about gameplay while this part of the game is currently open to changes and tweaks.
anyway, I play reflex and I do it without timers, it's more fun, it's more challenging. People who play with timers become predictable and they get bad habits. One day reflex will be in a better stage of development and it won't have timers. But I guess you will find something else to whine about or prosecute the game like a proper e-nazi.
I let you enjoy your quakelive despite me disliking the gameplay too, you don't see me complaining about QL in reflex forums or even here unless the thread discusses something very specific, I try to mind my business you try to mind yours and it will be ok.
Yes, of course I am afraid that Quake gets replaced by a dumbed down ripoff of it. I don't want the next generations to think about a dumbed down version of Quake as what high skilled duel FPS constitutes.
don't tell us what you think of the game, use some objective thinking for once, reflex and quakelive are quite demanding skilled wise, both of them, but each game puts emphasis in some parts more than others. They are sightly different, that doesn't make one worse, It's down to the likes.
I don't understand how it's dumbed down and I'd like to read an elaboration on "what high skilled duel FPS constitutes".
Holy mother of cum pooping balls, do you EVER stop talking about a game you don't even play?
Jesus christ I'm not even sure why I approved any of your latest 90 posts or so, all you do is complain about something you don't even want to take part in anyway.
Reflex can drop their marketing team and hire you to constantly, dat after day after day post about something about timers in completely unrelated threads.
It's borderline spamming.
he started streaming in october last year, a time when everyone was pissed after the infamous update, faceit dropped support for quake, dreamhack dropped support for quake, there were rumours that there would be no more quakecons ever, and players were leaving to go play cs:go with no hesitation. there was literally no incentive for fazz to put in as much effort as he did, except that he loved the game and wanted to contribute to the community.
at that time, it was literally just fazz's stream and 125fps that kept the quake community going. there's nothing wrong with watching other people's streams sometimes but i think it's ridiculous that, after everything fazz has done for the community, people still don't think better of him.
Actually I'm quite a regular sub on his twitch channel. I appreciate him and his stream. But with no QL tournaments going and not really a big chance to make decent money on twitch the only thing that, in my mind, would keep fazz streaming is just for having fun (which he undoubtedly has).
I just don't want to assume he will keep on streaming as long as I don't hear him say so.
yeah, perhaps I was being a little melodramatic in my first post, and I wasn't directly addressing it to you, so i'm sorry.
I just personally dont think fazz is the type of player who is or has ever been in it purely for monetary gain, I guess i expressed that in the wrong way. :s
If you followed his stream for any amount of time you'd know that it isn't necessarily all about ql. Before the qcon announcement for example he was playing a lot of cs. Then, when it became clear that he would go, he began practicing ql duel. Then, when the specific setup of this qcon was made public his participation wasn't so clear anymore, so his motivation dropped and he started spending more time with other games again. And then, when he knew he could go with a team, it was mostly about ql once more, but this time serious amounts of team game practice.
So after qcon the focus might very well shift somewhere else again. While he still tends to participate in and cover events like 125fps. Judging by his hitherto streaming patterns, that is.
Not possible. Epic meltdowns like yesternight's to be witnessed only in fazz' korner. Word is he came to office this morning having tiger blood dropping off his fangs.
