still ten times the number of people watching the bethesda stream throughout it's duration so far today, and that's over now until the doom talk in an hour (apparently no game footage in that, just talk)
Hard to disagree with them. Back in 2010 it was top dog. Now it doesn't even come close to LoL/Dota2/CSGO
As someone who watched a lot of bw (and miss the coverage it got on esr), it was much more interesting, sc2 is just control group 1 deathball attack move most of the time
I would say so. Many BW KeSPA players have made appearances in SC2 and performed well. I think SC2 will gain popularity again when Legacy of the Void, the next installment, is available. Part of the drop in popularity had to do with Heart of the Swarm being wishy washy in my opinion. Units like Swarm Hosts were really not fun to attack or defend with. Beyond initial investment they required no minerals or gas to function which doesn't even make sense to me.
Easy to disagree with them : they're just as deluded about what ded gaem means as the retards who think that big money is required for a game to be pla---- oh wait.
The new expansion is supposed to tone down the deathballs but given it took them 5 years to notice the root of the problem was the economy, I'm not expecting much.
I guess it depends on your definition of a dead game. I think one where most casual players have left and the player base is shrinking pretty much means the game is dead (ya ql falls into this category)
Finally broke down and bought hots a week or two ago. Pretty meh single player. I don't really have high hopes for the mp in lotv either.
Something that was awesome was starcraft 2: mass recall
As far as I'm concerned, if you can find people to play with everytime you feel like playing and if it's not a fucking struggle to run a small sunday tournament on relatively short notice, the game isn't dead.
The fucked up shift in mentality that happened with sc2's big money bullshit is what killed sc2.
I agree. Overall the coverage is poor for an event that is anticipated all year. So much talent present and they don't interview very many players? They won't show matches that already happened during a "break"? For what reason? People tune in to see great matches not listen to dubstep. You would think this event is organized by people trying to kill the game not fan its flame. It's disappointing. You wouldn't have guessed rapha and cypher were even present thursday through friday. Meltdown, meltdown, meltdown. They are amazing but come on show a little of everyone please.
alright we're back now and I have to tell you that rapha will be facing someone... I really don't know who perhaps chance, or evil? wow this format is so convoluted. anyway see you (hopefully) in 2-3 hours for the grand final that is rapha vs. ??? ok bye.
Man, it was sad to see only 3k during the grand finals. Quake has really fallen, I can't believe there hasn't been a new game in almost 10 years. id has wasted this franchise so much.
I'm glad Quakecon put on the tournament but really these numbers are so low that it's starting to get really dire. :[
