ebay-->q-nix 2414/x-star 2414 its noname brand from Korea that produce cheap monitors with LG panels. There are 2 versions - overclockable (with DVI only) and non-overclockable (DVI,HDMI,D-SUB).

how does 180hz feel vs 144?

not the great difference, feels almost same. Greatest difference is when u go from 60Hz to 100-120Hz. Its like life-changer, but 120-144-180 feels absolutly same and i didnt notice any aim-improvements or more comfort for eyes. And u must know that on 144hz adn above ur videocard will work with high idle clocks (more temperature, more power cons).

I pushed my crt up to 200hz for a ffa game. 120 to 200 hz is a gamechanger.. seriously! O_O

you used the frame skipping checker, took a picture of the screen, and saw that there weren't any skipped frames at 180 Hz? just making sure you used the tool properly, i know a lot of people say they got successful overclocks but didn't use the tool right.

They both have direct drive / das mode. They both have black tuner / black stabilizer. Just buy whatever is cheaper. Just remember that the LG is now discontinued because "LG didn't see enough demand" for 144hz 1080p, they instead appear to be focusing on ultra wide. Not a problem of course, unless it needs to be returned.

BenQ XL2420Z / XL2430T, LG 24GM77 & Iiyama GB2488HSU are all about equal. At the same price go BenQ or LG for more features / value for money. It's about time Iiyama released a new model.

before 144hz ive tested 21:9 LG 29inch IPS....absolutely useless shit and 4k also useless - not enough computing power to play new games in 4k :( 2x980ti = 25fps :D so 1080 @ 144 best atm

launch any new game with 4k and 8xMSAA doesnt matter what cpu, it will be like 25-30fps all AAA titles

yeah, no AA or maybe 2x would be fine

It depends on the screen size and the amount of time spent front of it. I remember the times when we didn't need AA in 1080p:)
If you have a 24" 4K monitor, then you probably won't really need it for a few years, but you might already notice the a very small difference on larger screens, but still no need for 8xMSAA for sure.

I have the iiyama GB24888HSU and I love it. I've had it for six months now and the biggest complaint I have about it is that when you first turn the monitor on, the colours look a little washed out for about 20 seconds while the panel warms up. Nothing major and certainly nothing that'll affect your game at all.

I'd suggest that you get a Benq if you care about features such as lightboost or g-sync, and if like me you don't really care then just go for whichever is cheaper (when I was looking around, it was the iiyama), since the raw panel performance will be similar to the point that any difference will be indistinguishably negligible.

Ohh thank you, i don't want to spend my money on Asus, i really like the LG 24GM77 for the usage.

If they both equal, then i think the usage will make more impact for me :)

I played long time a Fujitsu Siemens 19" CRT until i have to move and trow it into trash :X

I played Quake3Arena & Quake4 & ETQW on it, i never had a gaming LCD once :D

I think the iiyama GB24888HSU has a overall better quality, this will be a hard decicion :)

direct drive = low input lag, just removes any extra processing, low input lag.
das = dynamic action sync = fancy name for direct drive = low input lag.

Of course CRT is still fastest, but very difficult to beat LG 24GM77 :) you will love that monitor.

why did you quote some clueless random person on hardforum? AHVA is IPS, which is why its contrast ratio is <1000:1. AMVA is the name of AUO's VA technology. TN is the fastest LCD panel type, period.

Has Asus fixed the frame skipping at 144hz on this panel? They might but make sure to get a newer revision if you wanna buy it...

And tbh I'd rather pay the extra to get the g-sync version (Acer X270HU) or just get the Asus Rog Swift cos those have been reviewed extensively and you know exactly what you get - no input lag and most responsive LCD panel on the planet + calibrated colours out of the box etc. etc.

It seems clear to me, that the blackness is not that high as other IPS they have abouve 5000:1
