They received a lot of attention like 3 years ago. And they actually are a pretty original and surprisingly accomplished act, working largely outside of the mainstream industry.
Admittedly, the guy with his shtick can be a little annoying at times, and what you probably don't want is hear them doing any interviews. But the chick, even though I would never want to be in a same room with her, is a blast.
Check out fatty boom, dis iz why i'm hot, ugly boy. Good sample demonstrating their video production dexterity.
That being said I think the music is OK and has it's place, it's def not everyone's cup of tea, and they like to go for a shock factor in all their videos.
Also I agree that they are shit actors and completely ruined Chappie as a concept and movie, should stick to music rather.
They're contributing a little to the confusion though, when insisting in iviews that their act was "the real them". But I agree, it's plainly recognizable that they're performing a satiric exaggeration.
Me, I consider them a refreshing and original diversion from the repetitive, tiresome mainstream crap. And the mere fact that they refused to be opening act for lady gaga in South Africa gained them a lot of sympathy with me.
Also, that sweet "let's rush to Africa" guy in the beginning. Is that a common phrase in SA? He really, you know, touched upon my heart somehow (escaped a glistening mantear only narrowly).
Edit: Forget the first part, found it in the youtube comments. Second part still appreciated though. Awaiting communications.

I say this is exactly the kind of stuff we need. Putting the game into some context outside ppl can relate to. Very nice effort, wonder what else could be accomplished down that path.
it is completely unrelated just because ninja stuff is about fighting doesnt mean its relevant to quake. and cartoons in a quake movie, the cartoons are not quake related either its ninja stuff again. the music, objectively speaking , you may like antwoord or not its a polarising band which makes it bad fragmovie music to begin with. But this track is just completely inconvenient for a fragmovie. Its a shame really, OP has clearly skills in editing and the frags are good. Themaverfehlung setzen 6
You seem to be missing the point. In particular, it's highly questionable if that ton of basically ever same frag movies already available does anything at all to promote the game.
This one here, having the courage to add a new twist, is something that could be considered promotional. And me, I'd like to see more attempts in similar directions.
and i think you are seeing something in the movie that isnt there. Stuff like this has been done before see kevlark/10 adding mortal combat sequences or the one with paintings of antique events cant remember the name or hellspawns 8bit movie. Themed fragmovies are nothing new but this one has a theme that does not connect to quake its running the full ninja theme and plays some quake along with it.
as for the "ton" of fragmovies I noticed that in the last 2-3 months barely any movies have been released. I will edit my epic fragmovie mid september when i have time.
anyway points exchanged points taken. i rarely ever rate 0 but this one eventhough the frags are above average is unwatchable the music annoys me beyond everything, the cartoons dont fit. it was a failed attempt, I appreciate the effort, dude got skills want to see more of him
Honestly, this was hard to watch. I couldn't really appreciate the frags because I was trying to figure out what the fuck I was watching 99% of the time. The cartoon scenes didn't add anything, they just distracted me from what I was supposed to be focusing on.
However you clearly have a lot of skill in video editing and it's cool that you made a fragmovie that reflects your personal interests too, but I believe your video editing skill could probably be used in better ways next time. :/
I hate anything anime related but this movie was alright because it had something that I've been barking about for the past few years - what distinguishes your frag movie from a regular kevlark CFG test is a theme, a Leitmotif that drives the frags forward.
Max Normal is also cool in my book, along with Jack Parrow
Seriously. If I were an outsider wondering why quake is supposed to be cool, the standard autistic frag movie is fairly unlikely to provide me with an answer I reckon.
Only these new vq3/ql movies are boring. The frag quality gets no where near the old school vids like SQF In Action, Lyon Connection, lof.RA3.fnu, or even Annihilation. What happened?
I blame quake's declining popularity on the increasingly shit quality of the frags that are in these movies.
its about slicing up people with a cool sword, what not to like. and one of the very few animes that are watchable, aaaannnndd....wait for it....PEOPLE HAVE NOSES.
It could do just as well without these q3 segments. Still I'm so bored with regular fragmovies than I'm gonna rank it high.
edit: also your frags aren't very ninja-like, you're not moving much, aiming slowly and freezing after fragmovie-worthy shots. Would love to see it with cypher's demos :P
Ok, believe this is the first I time ever rated a movie on here, and after watching it again I'm giving it a solid 10. Why? Because it makes a solid attempt at a coherent, broader artistic vision.
Pay some attention for example to how he manipulates the ingame visuals to blend in with the anime, color wise. Desaturating stuff at one point and adding extra glow and whatnot at the other. There's even some split screen going on! And the fast paced, action style editing is perfect.
This is truly awesome stuff. The guy clearly has some ideas of his own, and it's good to see somebody having some.
A little disappointed tbh. Lots of blood and slaughter and some decent frags ruined by wigga music. It just sounded a bit childish.
Ironically though I liked the cartoon edits, never seen that done before. I know music is a personal thing and I could play my own track over the movie but I don't like to do that. The music is always a vital and integral part of the overall feel of the movie and I've seen plenty of frag movies with music I would never consider listening to but they still work very well within the movie. This I don't think did.
Though It would probably greatly appeal to a young audience. 6/10
tbh i find the effort to even make a q3 movie a great thing. Clearly the producer wanted this kind of ninja theme, used a song from a band that is known for mixed reviews. cfg and frags were fine, maybe too much dm6 and ztn but I guess that is q3 :)
+ movie config
+ try to make another concept ( + for the effort )
+ fonts and special fragmessages ( fits with the concept )
+ editing
- Music ( its really not my taste, ruined it a bit, copyright and related rights aswell )
- Anime ( dont understand what i watched there )
- some transitions from frags to Anime are really painfull for the eyes ( not needed @ all )
i hope to see more from you in the future!
Rating-> 7/10

WoW! I'm a MOVIESTAR! (frag role doesn't matter =)).)
Morgot, somebody should tell You that most people dislike rap and anime too. Not only politics and pedophilia, like in a previous movie.
Frags and game videoquality is ok.
PS, OSP lives! OSP forever!
PS2, Transitions between LIVE GAME in 60 FPS ans f-kin anime in 23.9 FPS suxx! (The same are in other movies.)
you have basicly murdered this innocent movie with this awful music track. rza (and ofc any wu tang track) would have been good enough. maybe a ghost dog soundtrack.
i liked the editing, q3 logo at the waterfall scene, spinning ammo behind the samurai, and nice config.
new, fresh, fun
liked it and had fun watching - thanks :)
two things you can have in mind in your future projects is:
-less GL - you know you can change weapon in quake? :)
- flow of the video- the anime scenes are very fast paced while quake action seemed a little slow and dull in comparision. if the video is meant to be fast - keep it that way
I don't understand, frags from Q3 OSP 2013-2015? Didn't we all stop playing OSP in 2005? I'm not even going to bother watching something that undoubtedly would ONLY include frags on random drug addict noobs who downloaded Q3 from piratebay and hosted a server while getting high for a couple of years.
