I use a DVI-I to VGA adapter and can play QL at 120hz on a CRT.

However, a DVI-D to VGA adapter won't work if you're planning on using a CRT, because the DVI-D adapter will only output a digital signal (a CRT needs an analog signal).

If you plan on using a flat-screen you shouldn't encounter any problems though.

The resolution and refresh-rate you'll be able to achieve depends on your graphics-card.

Actually I have a GTX 650 TI video card.
The VGA port is used by a CRT monitor, but I would like to use another CRT monitor, which is a iiyama pro 454.
The ports that are still available on the back of the video card are 2 DVI-D outputs and a HDMI output.
So is there any way to connect one of these remaining ports to a CRT monitor and get a 120hz refresh rate on let's say 800x600?

Get a card with two dvi-i and convert them both. simplez

2dvi-i on cards is the norm now I think..

An active adapter will probably work but it could add latency. The safer choice would be to switch to a card with DVI-I.

Speaking of the safer choice, i've been searching for a card with a vga and an extra dvi-i, but I can tell you that the chances are slim to none. There is simply not one card who provide that anymore. :(

Only some budget cards have them on occasion, but I need at least a card in the range of what I have now.

Do you happen to know any good cards still out there with the extra dvi-i?

Or should I just add another graphics card in the computer?

you don't want that adapter if your dvi port is dvi-i. that adapter converts the signal whereas a dvi-i adapter can just take the analog signal as is.
