That would require the event that you are speaking of to have actually happened for pictures to be available.

Due to the fact it was gossip spread by a russian writer and never occured, there are not any pictures or video.

i definately think it's his own game that is frustrating him not stelam's... but stelam played really well and maka was unable to convert the 10 or more times he got him down under 50h...

A so-so game. By modern standards Makaveli plays like niewbie, his aim is just _horrible_. He can't time, he can't predict and guess enemy health. No wonder he lost the game.

It simply demo old. For that time this a demo was normal:P.

I quit to pursue a realistic career and finish college.

This tourney was my last hoorah. I did not care about the result and as such forfeited my later matches. I was not in practice for the tournament, and did not care enough to play while I was in Korea.

It was a vacation trip for me while it was a tournament for others. I only prepared for 3 days when I won a trip to Korea in the qualifier. I also did not practice at all before I left to Korea.

If you want to get into reasons about why I "quit," let's say it for how it really was... "I was tired of pro-gaming and retired." End of story.

I'm 6' tall and a solid 180 pounds. (I bench well over 200 pounds) If I threw a chair, I could seriously hurt somebody, damage tournament equipment, etc. Not to mention I could face legal consequences in a foreign country. Think McFly, think........

Demo old and for that time it was normal game. But to comparison with today's day, the level of game has many times over grown.

I've now seen makaveli play 2 demo's: vs. Stelam and see link above. This guy wasn't really known for his smart play, was he?

Makeveli was able to do things well in the beginning when most players just duked it out. But when times changed were "most" players started playing defensive maka lost it

The lack of effective defensive play was the biggest problem for most of the old west coast crowd. Guys like makaveli, z4, c3, etc. were probably the best in the world when they were in control of the map and could go on the offensive but they were totally lost when they weren't. The only west coaster that was a good defensive player was sector.

Watched demos since your Quake 2 times. Still have a lot of them on my HDD.

I think a lot of people are making conclusions based on third or fourth hand observations. Unfortunately the first hand account was a little exaggerated too, which makes it worse... but I don't think much of this Chinese whispers routine. Maka earnt his place here by playing well and beating the other guys so there's no cause to complain. He played here to win, but it didn't turn out that way so he got pissed off by it. He didn't swear at anyone, didn't damage anything, and wasn't rude to any person. The fact he was angry at the result just shows that he was aiming to win. The last thing I want to watch is gamers who are unemotional. The harsh comments that he writes are more a response to the guys who constantly flame him on message boards, and nothing to do with events here.

I've known Vic as a friend for a while, but even if I didn't I'd find it hard to criticise him for anything he's done except the inflamatory comments he tends to post. The Koreans here love him - he and other people who show a lot of emotion are the reason why FPS games can get some coverage here. I think before more people start making crazy accusations they should state that they have no idea what actually happened first, just so bystanders know how to read it."

Well, I was already around the Quake scene these days and this incident made headlines in the community.
It was an international event and not at least the Americans were upset about Makavelis behaviour at the time.
I know there was a comment from Maka like "I can do with my stuff what I like to". I don't blame Maka for it! Like Sujoy says: "The last thing I want to watch is gamers who are unemotional." Drama is what makes things interesting. And I think Makas rage made this event and this particular game even better. Who would give a f...k about it today without the emotions?
And I wouldn't give too much about Sujoys words about it, because these days Quake 3 and Sujoy were serious business. And I don't know, if Sujoy was actually at the scene when it happens. Like he says: The first hand account was "a little exaggerated". So on his view (the first hand account), it was more than just slightly kicking the chair, right? So why is his account less reliable than that from Sujoy, who was "a friend" at the time he wrote the comment and may not even saw it first hand?

And again: Who ever has Makavelis POV, please upload it! I (and many others, I guess) really like to see it! How could it be, that a demo of such a huge event is missing since 15 years?
