Guys im facing a problem. Im unable to fix it. I need your help!

Failed to load quake live site. Please ensure you are online, and your firewall is allowing the QUAKE LIVE client to connect. Error - 3

Im using Windows 7 - 64. Firweall is set to off. I have re-install ql... Tried to reboot.. I have turned off antivirus, after I uninstalled it.. I have tried in ipconfig with /flushdns.. Nothing worked for me.

Anyone have any idea what that could be?

I could format / reinstall windows in this matter, but I think there should be another way to fix it.

Did anyone face this problem?

Please help me fix this:

did you delete the quakelive folder in Appdata/LocalLow/id Software before reinstalling it?

have you tried running the quakelive launcher.exe in your installation directory as administrator?

I have tried as administrator to run shortcut in desktop, but I will try to run launcher.exe as an administrator now. Lets see if this will make any difference.

If that doesn't work you could try to reset your router.... if that doesn't work i don't know... let's hope it's just temporary

I have checked that launcher. Last modified 2013. I have unistalled ql and removed manually from Appdata/LocalLow QL.. as it seems launcher was not really removed. I will try to reinstall launcher. Lets hope this will help.

i'm pretty sure the launcher was removed ... mine is "last modified 2013" aswell ... that's just the date when id software created the launcher, i think

sounds more like a problem with your isp or something ... i would try to reboot your internet router

edit: or try to reset your tcp/ip stack.... ->cmd: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt ->reboot

Cant do that " netsh int ip reset " I need to run this as an administrator. Could you help me out or be more specific?

PS: I cant reset router, not now... Its not in my room.

run cmd as administrator... type "netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt" without the "" ... then it tells you to reboot

I think so. Very rarely, it also happens with me. I just need to restart the client and that's it.

Just as a side note; Isn't Quake Live going full Steam in these days?

yes, the way i understood it all player accounts will be deleted and you play as a normal steam player, no elo, no account just a name.

It's either that, or flipping the off-switch.

With this release they make the game independent of any ID server infrastructure, so we can continue playing after they shut down their stuff (XMPP chat and game server management servers, game servers, stats database servers, user account and payment servers, ...)

There's already >100 community game servers running for the beta version, so that part is pretty much covered.

Chances are that someone in your IP subnet (that is, with the same ISP) was participating in a DDoS attack and your whole network is now blackholed / blocked by CloudFlare, which protects their clients (like ID software) from DDoS attacks.

All you can do is wait and hope the DDoS stops and your subnet is no longer blocked.

I have insert an old sata disk where I had XP black edition. I have install QL, run and it worked. It seems I have something fucked with GFX or browser here (IMO)... Need to reinstall everything and see, but it would be really weird if this was an issue.

It tells you what to do. Create a firewall exception for quakelive if Windows Firewall is on but if you have any additional firewalls enabled you will have to do that there as well. I would uninstall security with the removal tool from the vendor you have chosen. Turn off windows firewall temporarily and test again. This is configuration in the environment you're running. Looks like you have windows firewall off though :)

You could also try and create a new user on the computer and see if you have the same issue to isolate it further between a user wide configuration issue or system wide. If it's system wide security software is the first thing I would isolate out of the picture.
