D4 will be just a cool single player game that you place once. And a MP game that you play a couple of times and then forget it existed (pretty much just like every other game nowadays).
there is a crucial difference - in BFG you can use flashlight and a gun at the same time while in standard you cant (when you hold a flashlight you cant shoot adn when you have a gun you often cant see shit). Because of that its a lot less scary going trough dark hallways in BFG edition. Considering doom 3 is all about anxiety and suspense while crawling around and BFG edition takes a lot away from it, we can safely say BFG is a downgrade

Yes, but a worse edition instead of just not turning on the flash light. Makes sense. Go for that.
It does not take anything away from it. I beat Doom 3 and Doom 3 BFG Edition, both were fun, and having a flashlight more easily available only made it more enjoyable for me.

they patched bfg edition and gave it through that more grafix settings. also a ingame console for cvar is standard for pc.
the sexual preference of the revenant in unknown. in doom classic he lived in small groups. could be group sex. in doom 3 he lived mostly alone, i saw once he likes cacodemons and cacodemons like him (do female cacodemos exists?). in doom 4 he gets a jetpack to have more and faster sex. and the doom marine didnt exactly show a love interest in the revenant.
-so console is still accessible with ctrl alt tilde, com_allowconsole 1 doesn't seem to work, all commands appear to be locked with the exception of skipintro and g_Fov, g_Fov is capped at 120, default is 90 but feels like 70. no other commands appear to work, even stuff like hands_show and hands_fovscale. when typing the cvar alone it recognizes them, but with a value adjustment it'll say "unknown command" so icouldn't disable stupid visual shit. g_Fov 120 makes the game a lot more playable though and not too bad,
- the melee kills can be gay with the desync from the netcode but is entertaining, clearly for casual draw though. never played and never will play brutal doom so not too into that but the fidelity makes it better i suppose
-net stability suffers from this stupid p2p shit, not sure hwy there isn't dedicated servers for PC, but it is alpha, i guess...
overall, it's okay, it could be better, a pro mod would probably be fun, probably with doom blue mega armor etc, mega sphere etc.. gauss cannon (the gay wep pickup with see through wall vision and instakill) removed, it could use a radar for detecting team mates..
Id tech 5 is not a bad engine imo, strafejumping in rage was quite fun, and could easily be modded in i assume, i like the climbing mechanic, with strafejump and that could be kind of brink like, maybe even crouch sliding? as of now though, kind of halo esque, with two weapon max limit etc.
- personal teleporter, gimmick or tactical. i have no experience with the ut teleporter.
- if 2 players do melee at the same time, who wins. is melee some kind of luck or is it luck & skill like the q3 gauntlet.
- does the melee make sense in deathmatch? do you think it works as an integrated element? does it abuse something, like cod players who come fast at you with the knife and you cant counter it because the whole team iss stupid and wont cover players.
- whats the feel of the speed of the player. is it fast? i mean in the trailer the fights/shots look fast but not the player itself. if you change the fov to something higher than 90 default. you get a faster feeling?
- 1 player speed or exand with a sprint key.
- in the trailer the players didnt dodge of shots. is dodge to left right a key gameplay element or is the player speed to low for good dodge. (seems the map is tight and contorted, in the trailer i see only forward movement, 1 time someone backed)
- you think hit registration and weapon switch time is okay? besides the servers are p2p. hitreg in rage singleplayer was topnotch (zooming with the pistol on enemy head, pixel exactly)
- headshots?
- to drive the revenant, it is sstupid fun right? (id said its just 1 mode with a monster, of more modes. and more monsters will be playable)
- whats your feel about the grafix. i know its just one map, tech theme with lava. they wont spoil more grafix themes right now.
- pop up grafixs (from rage) are history?
- i guess they use blur and distortion a lot because machine games did it in wolfenstein the new order. i think there will be a option do deactivate it.
- you only got 1 key? no waves so far?
(q4 crouch and strafejumps didnt work good with gamepad, i dont see that they add that)
- eh kinda, it can be a little op, if they're low on health then they glow red if they're close enough and that means you can finish them off with melee, revenant is also subject to this feature and it feels satisfying curb stopping that stupid fucking skeleton
- not as fast as doom 2, i can't really say i guess.. a little slow but not too slow?

i know speed is hard to describe because there are many factors, own sight, enemy model, fov, enviroment. anyway. i remember ut2k3 beta test, afterwards they doubled the player speed.
topic dodging. i didnt saw dodging infight in the trailer. reason i asked.
