Do you mean video anti-aliasing stuff? AA on video can add some input lag if it lowers your frame rate enough, but the mouse accel driver would be unaffected.

I had never heard of mouse anti-aliasing until I just googled it and saw a youtube video where it was sub-pixel increments. If that's the anti-aliasing you're talking about, the driver takes any leftover float movements from one cycle and applies them at the beginning of the next, so you effectively get sub-pixel movements.

I usualy use AA 4X on all my games except QL and Trackmania. I would like to use it in QL if the accel does not get affected by AA.

AA and resolution would definitely have no impact on the driver accel.

how can I make this work with counter strike 1.6? I have both steam and non-steam versions of cs1.6 installed and I succesfully installed the service (followed all the steps for 64bit windows 8), but I don't feel the mouse sensitivity being affected inside the games when I'm running them.

Namely, I am running in test mode, along the configuration tool opened up and already configured with values + the games I want to test the sensitivity/acceleration on... but no matter how many changes I do to the gui and update driver values, I feel no difference in game.

cs1.6 steam has its own module for handling raw mouse input and it's enabled by the "m_rawinput 1" cvar. One would assume that "m_rawinput 0" would then use whatever the default windows driver provides. If this driver sets itself as the default windows driver for mouse input, is there a way to force games to use this? Can games choose from a variety of drivers?

Does it feel like the driver affects your mouse sensitivity/accel in Windows or in other games? If you put post-scales at 0.25, does your cursor move at 1/4th the speed?

I don't know why, but sometimes Windows has multiple copies of the mouse driver, and I don't know of a way to tell which one is which (one is used, others aren't). When I upgraded to Win10, I had 3 "HID-compliant Mouse" devices listed, and it ended up being the very last one I installed it to, so I had three copies of the mouse filter driver.

I got the driver working. Your post hinted at the fact that I missed one step. I followed the text installation instructions instead of the video, so I never went to the device manager and updated the mouse to the new driver (it isn't stated as a step). But now that I've done it it works

It overwrites the m_rawinput 1 from cs1.6 steam though. What I mean is that setting m_rawinput 1 + m_customaccel 0 will still give you whatever acceleration you are setting as the driver value in the gui.

Alright. I lowered the font size on the Table of Contents and tweaked the layout a bit (moved the sidebar stuff to the bottom, resized the main contents of the page so it can go further to the right). Let me know how that looks for you.

My 1050p second monitor has no problem on the blog, btw. Is your browser zoomed in or something? Try hitting ctrl-0.

I double checked the zoom before. It was set properly.

Now it looks much better.

The "Mouse Acceleration in competitive gaming" may look even better when scaling down to 90%. But i can't speak for everyone. Maybe it's just me :)

The driver has worked fine for me in the Battlefield series, Natural Selection 2, Overwatch, Reflex, QL, QW, Farcry 2/3 (required some tweaks to kill their crappy negative accel)...

Hello i use your driver to make my mouse skip. My setup is sens 5 and accel 0.1. To make it skip i use prescale 0.25 and to get my sens back i divide my accel by 4 and times my sens by 4 in game. It seems to recreate the feel of my old setup. The problem i am facing is when i try to add offset or senscap. For e.g. i want to use sens 3, accel 99, offset 7 and senscap 3.5. Dividing senscap and offset by 4 does not recreate the feeling of the old setup and accel is slower. Any solutions?

Try using post-scale instead of pre-scale. I find pre-scale does a lot of funky things to those variables.

I haven't tried to convert from QL to the driver or vice versa. It might not be exact, but I'm sure you could tweak it to get really close.

Semi-related note & coincidence - I was googling ways to measure input lag and came across your posts yesterday. Povohat is currently testing an alternate method to mouse accel that might be introducing input lag, but I keep going back and forth between the two methods and don't feel anything amiss. Is there any chance you still have that hardware for measuring input lag configured?

Unfortunately, I have no idea. I didn't know people used registry tweaks to affect Windows acceleration until after I had already been using povohat's driver for a year or so. Haven't played with it at all to date.

My understanding is that the windows EPP system is a function based on a linear interpolation of a series of fixed points. The accel system of quake live and the one implemented in the driver is mostly based around a formula where the output is proportionate to the input

Is there any site to convert a quake setup (400 dpi, 3 sens, 0.2 accel) into your program's equal? the acceleration values seem to be very different

If you want it in overwatch, then you'll either have to purchase a premium subscription, or you can use this.

I tried out accel recently and it works perfectly fine for me in OW (as it does in Quake), it acts how it is meant to. If you have any issues, then I would suggest contacting Kovaak since he seems to know his shit about this stuff (Kovaak#2167 on Discord).
