now, the only difference in one product line is the actual size. it was different in the past.

I wonder why they went back to the 16 step scroll wheel. I like the 24 step one on my ZA better than the 16 step one on my FK.

Are all the Zowies sold on their store now the new ones with Omrons!? You cant go wrong with it other then its a new product, im really excited and interested to see direct comparisons to the Omron Zowies and the 3310 ones with upgrade Huano switches

i've been using ec1 evo cl for a year or two and i really like it a lot...i'd say no, you can't go wrong. only complaint is that the anti-slip coating chipped off and Zowie is refusing to replace under warranty. but the mouse is still perfectly functional, so whatever.

have you tried contacting the retailer instead?

yeah, they said "contact the manufacturer because the purchase was too long ago". thanks for suggestion though!

All customers that experience the peeling issue should contact the retailer or local distributor so the faulty unit can be replaced by a fully functional one as soon as possible.
which is kinda bullshit. zowie should do the replacements directly as well as honor warranties.

again, thank you for your help on this! unfortunately, I found that post as well, and I pointed the retailer to it as evidence that they should honor my claim, but didn't get anywhere with that. So after a few email exchanges and calls with both parties, I decided it wasn't worth my time - if the mouse ever actually stops functioning, I'll probably just buy a new one...even with the flakey coating, my current EC1 has still proven to be the best one i've used! but believe me, the internal conflict of buying a potentially defective mouse again will still eat my soul :P
