I noticed that some of the servers that have "classic" in description don't actually have classic movement. I would like to ask people that know server owners or admins to inform them about the difference between pmove_bunnyhop 0 and pmove_bunnyhop 1. I assume that they want entirely classic settings but simply don't know about this command.
Here is a short explanation:
pmove_bunnyhop 1 let's you accelerate to twice the normal speed when jumping in a straight line even when you don't strafe or move your mouse. It also has an effect when you are in the air and holding +forward or moving your mouse only a little.
Thanks to the people in this thread I also learned that it makes movement fps dependent: People with more fps jump further.
All competitive quake like duel, House of Quake, Quakecon, tdm pickups, ctf pickups and ca pickups use classic (pmove_bunnyhop 0) movement.
I consider this addition to quake to be terrible and would like to see it removed/ignored as it is annoying to have the game behave slightly differently between different gametypes and servers.
At the very least, please tell server owners about it so that they make an informed decision.
