Honestly the new sensors are not that good compared to older sensors as far as pure accuracy goes. The new sensors are based off of laser sensors so they have acceleration. The acceleration is very consistent and minimal but it is still there.

I think about replacing my wmo with g100s, cause the logitech seems to be the best when quality/cost goes. You were takking strictlt about g303 sensors, right?

No I was also talking about the 3310 which is in all the new zowie mice. I know some people actually like the acceleration but for me my aim hasn't felt consistent with any mouse with the 3310 or the new Logitech sensor in the g502 and the g303. I am assuming it is do to the acceleration.

I also should note the g303 and g502 have a very buggy sensor. While surface tuned it will malfunction and make you aim at the sky or ground. If you have no intention of using the surface tuning it isn't terrible. I am just saying I believe there is a reason the price has dropped by half at my local best buy. I definitely can't recommend it for the full price.

Surface Tuning always lowers lod and the default one is already pretty low, so weird things and unusable results may happen, depends on mousepad.

g303 has the best sensor EVER. Tracking feels smooth and easy.

Yep, pretty much this. I haven't experienced anything chace is talking about and I own both the g303 and the g502 (the g502 is too heavy for me, and the g303's shape is unusable for my weird hybrid of palm and fingertip grip).

I don't use surface tuning, only thing in the drivers I mucked around with was adding angle snapping.

The bug only happens when you surface tune it. That is why you haven't had it happen.

was reading your comments here but they had me looking sideways at all some of your claims.
lemme clear things up a bit, even this is a very old necro post :D

-no bugs with the sensor at any dpi (it did have some sensor rattle tho, but i opened it up and added a small drop of hot glue where the clear plastic lens frame and the housing were making *loose* contact and that fixed it firmly in place - no rattle ever since)

-no acceleration of any kind (cursor tracks right back to it's initial position after moving slowly to the right then fast to the left to it's starting position, and vice versa)

-no angle snapping (i can draw with it just like i draw on my wacom)

-no problems using surface tuning (using this feature since day one)

so i don't know where you all got your info from. i'm loving the precision, it actually feels like an extension of my hand.
this and my old mx 518 will always have a special place on my trophy shelve, once they stop working - if ever.. :)

3310 acceleration???

It isn't really acceleration but that is the easiest way to explain it. Basically if you move the mouse slowly and then move it back faster it will go farther. Again this isn't a big issue because it won't be off by an amount that would matter.

As I read it, the sensor is flawless in that regard and you are doing something wrong. Like incompatible mousepad, adjusted lod somehow but "too much" or something like that

I should note the max tracking speed on the new sensors are much higher. For most they are about double. So for low sensitivity users I guess the new sensors should be fine. By low sensitivity users I mean 40cm/360 and above and maybe even 35cm/360 depending on how you use the mouse. I found the g302 to be much more accurate for medium sensitivity in quake live.

What's your sensitivity? I'm using 41.4 cm/360 and I can make the g100s malfunction. It doesn't happen every game, but it's a minor issue I'd like to address if I could. I'm not sure the malfunctioning issues are to do with my mousepad or not (Zowie G-SR), but I don't get the same issues with my g303. Also the g303 feels somehow more responsive, but I admit the latter could be a placebo.

Of course the g100s and g302 will malfunction. The g303 will not. With your sensitivity the g303 will not have any problems at all as far as consistency goes. The acceleration I am talking about would only effect people with a cm/360 lower than about 35. The problem is with very small slow movements. It isn't really a big problem for most people. As I mentioned it is very minimal. Again I am mainly stating the mouse is not worth the retail value. There are lot of mice that are cheaper that give you a lot more options with much better shapes.

well tools and stuff which probably you will need for make modification : needle files,25 w soldering iron,4 kinds of glass paper (some like 240 600 1000 3000), good quality cyanacrylate glue(i used cosmofen cost 2$),epoxide glue,small vise,a bit rubber glue,some small drill (can be old mechanical or small electric) and 1-3mm borers for it, rod from cello maxriter pen for make new pcb screw fixations(rod from this pen is durable and have enought diameter for tighten the small screw) and maybe some more u will see it in work p.s. sorry for my ingrish comrades im not from crapitalist country.

idk how/if the 3310 has accel but it has less smoothing than the g100s and never malfunctions, at least with the G303's implementation

G303 mod is easier to do for G100S since they got identical mouse1/mouse2 and wheel encoder positions, all you need to do is cutting/glueing/plastic molding/etc and no soldering required
G502 is better for other shells(but also harder since it requires a lot of soldering)

The more it goes and the more i wanna throw a g502 pcb into a g500 shell... What is your take on it h8m3? Would you think of any particular problems that may happen?

Thought about it again. Unlike the kinzuadder or other 3090/3668 or whatever mods it will be nearly impossible to center the board/lense exactly. Correct me if i'm wrong.
That's the reason i dislike mods which involve cutting the whole bottom part of the board. Would be impossible to replicate. You would never get the exact same feeling of the first one etc. But maybe it's just me.

I "customized" the bottom of the g100s so i can use any mouse skates. Currently i'm using hotline games for the logitech G1.

I got hyperglide skates for my g100s and they are well worth it. They were pretty hard to find though. They don't seem to be listed on the Hyperglide webshite, and I don't remember where I got them from. Amazon, I think

I only have very basic knowledge of modding mice but from what I understand the switches on the pcb are responsible for how the click feels.
So does the g100s get g303 clicks aswell or does the shell of the g100s make them feel differently? And if so how?

most gaming mice use d2fc-f-7n's and it's mostly the shell that makes every mouse feel slightly different

obviously it wouldnt feel completely different, but a good g100s shell with a g303 pcb that's placed at the right height will feel like a g100s with good clicks, which in my experience is only slightly stiffer than the g303

Different batches need to be taken into consideration as well, the margin those switches have is huge.

people change the cable on the aurora and make adjustments to the buttons but that's about it. its sensor is good and so is the shell, no reason to separate the two.

I see winz picked custom g100s while owning aurora,same for h8m3, also nvc is on some of the new logitechs if im not wrong. Sensor placement on the aurora doesn't work for me because i'm fingertip player. I tend to hold it to far on the back. That's because of the shape. The mx300/G1 shaped mice i use to hold in a different way. Trying to forcing myself to hold it more to the middle feels too uncomfortable.

It"s small, light, even lighter once the weight is removed and sensor is pretty good.
You got to get rid of these shitty mouseskate imo (wmo hyperglide here).

Height is close to a wmo and a FK but it's less wide.
Wheel feels cheap but still better than wmo :)

Got my g100s in the mail.

Took the weight out,
sanded the bottom flat with sanpaper (250, then 400, then 1000 grit),
poped some old wmo qpad glides on.

Its true, this mouse is very very good. I highly recommend it having come from wmo to ZowieFK and now this. It took no time atall to get used to it. The Zowie felt heavy and inhibiting in comparison.

This is 100% True. I own many of the top mice and it has by far the best sensor of any sensor out there.

Has anyone put the g303 optics inside of the g100s? How hard is it to do on your own? I'm not very hand at stuff like this.

Did any of the G100s owners have problems with left click so far? Mine started to malfunction from time to time (can hear click but doesnt register). Is there a reliable fix?

This is a very very common issue. All of mine started doing that after a couple months.

I tried to open the switch itself and see if I could fix it that way and I was never able to put it back up together correctly after I opened it. =P

I would recommend just getting a soldering gun (~$15) some iron ($0.9) and change the switches instead of getting a new G100s. It will save you lots of money.

So I guess I got lucky. Mine lasted at least 2 years without any major flaws. Guess i will just try out some other light weight mice and see if I find replacment that suits me.

Only shapes I felt 100% happy with were G100s and WMO.

i got one from ebay, where the left button failed in 90% to register a click.
i opened up the switch itself, touched the internals(dunno if that does anything) but after that it worked again as if there weren't any problems before whatsoever.

Mine only fails around 10% and its still annoying as fuck. If i press a little harder it works 100% but it just doesnt feel natural anymore then ingame.

Started having the problem after around a month and a half. Clicks don't register or register twice in immediate sequence. But already did the weight removal trick, so no warranty left.

Now i know how some of those identical double posts in various forums are generated: You click "submit" once, the mouse clicks twice so fast the browser doesn't have time to refresh and sends the same message twice.

On reddit sometimes i can't even upvote posts. I click once, the mice shoots twice, upvoting and immediately cancelling the upvote. You see the arrow flash. You do it again. It does it again. You do it the third time, again. Finally around the forth time it clicks only once.

open up the switch and scratch the contacts a bit with a small screwdriver (dont remove the metal piece. it's hard to put back)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've recently fixed it using another system, putting metallic foil over the switches with two small rubber bands.

It doesn't misclick anymore it seems, but the clicks feel a little mushy now, i fear it added some resistance to the clicks.

Still way better than before, and less invasive than the method you suggested.

I fear i could break the switches or alter their flexibility by opening them up that way.

update: it didn't fix it 100%, it still misses some clicks here and there, might be around 1 on 20 or so. It doesn't double click anymore, ever.

Just want to share that reaching the middle sensor position with the G303 board is possible. It requires soldering.

Yes and yes. But its not much worth it as middle sensor position still isnt enough for that shape.

I can Advice you to put lenth from steelseries kinzu v3 or kana v2 i dont remember what is working perfect , and you dont need to put there other sensor ;) from steelseries lenth is fits like original ;)

since this thread got bumped, logitech has been working on a 3366 g100s type mouse (leaked name of g200) that some logitech sponsored csgo pros had been seen using (semphis, n0thing, skadoodle, stewie)

Obviously it's not 100% straight so it wouldn't be 100% in sync with the shell, but moving your cursor directly up and down is a hand and eye coordination movement regardless of the rest.

Because you can clearly see in the picture it is not straight, I made a g100s / 303 mod and the PCB should be 100% straight along the top line of plastic and bottom near the screw.

But thats still not aligned if you only do it "by eye". Cursor can still be like 20-50px more to the left or right when moving vertically on the screen (depending on resolution)
The sensor ships are mostly not even soldered properly anyway. So it doesnt matter if it looks straight for you.

You can only do so much with the tools and information you have, if perfection is the desired outcome then i guess its impossible.

Then im the only one who knows how to do this. All you need is ms paint, a ruler and some patience. You can get the sensor 99,99% perfectly aligned on any ambidextrous mouse (unless it has prediction/anglesnapping enabled)

Hotglue. Its the best you can use as you can make tiny adjustments easy.


But my method works best with 3888/3090/3310 lense PCBs. The 3366 lense is just bad for modding.
Its hard to center the lense exactly on the sensor hole. +the lense is usually fixed to the chip.

If you mean my initial post on this board, it only shows the main PcB so im not sure how Acid_reptile concluded the sensor board UNDER it was actually misaligned... as i posted the link to my own thread a bit later.......

Anyway, im actually satisfied with the Pro Gaming, the g100s got sold to a very happy buyer :)

I basically tightened the g502 sensor module as straight as visually possible in my eyes.

I honestly havent thought about it THAT much.
Non of my G303's where 100% straight as they all had lens rattle and had probably all have some margin in them.

Either way, looking into the sensor hole, the transparent lines are aligned with the g100s bottom hole so im sure its close to 99% ;)

No, the lense alignment with the hole doesnt have anything to do with the alignment of the sensor itself. But its a good way of checking the quality control or the built quality of a mouse. If the lense isnt alignet with the sensor hole i wouldnt expect too much.

I mean, cmon dude, I have opened a xillion mice and Im perfectly sure at least half of the conpetitive mouse, for instance zowie ec2-a with separate board are all 98/99% aligned, but not up to the nanometer... Almost all boards have some magin at the screw/pcb, some more than others...

This is just nitpicking imperfections that all mice posses. I'm proud of my creation :)

Not talking about zowies. But if we talk about logitech their mices are not alignet properly believe me. With older generations of mice it was just impossible to spot with the heavy anglesnapping. Most terrible built quality was for sure the first few batches of g100s.

Logitech G Pro is the name of new mouse with the g100s' shape, and 3366. I've never tried this shape. Would it be comfortable for my 20 sentimiters hand using claw grip?

Sure. Its classic symmetric shape for claw grip. I have 19cm hand and it feels perfect so most likely it will suit you too

Unfortunately the new logi pro mouse just seems like "good" version of the g103 mod. In my earlier posts i mentioned that i managed to get the pcb very low to get a better (far from optimal) sensor position. Thats about 6 cm measured from bottom, just like the pro mouse. So without even testing it im sure the best thing to do is the g100s @ g 502 mod, as you can get much lower with the sensor position vs the g100s @ g303 or logi pro. I think im going to try the new pro mouse anyway, as the shape seems slightly different and im hoping for a better weight balancing, but i think it will give me handcramps, just like the g100 shape.
