I always hear people saying how bad quake live's netcode is, but I don't really understand what the "netcode" is. Can someone explain to me what the "netcode" refers to and also what exactly makes quake live's netcode so bad.

Me personally i am in the camp that we need lag reconcilliation but someting is just wrong with how ql works atm.
Right now ql suffers from a string of unrealiable behaviour when it comes to both hitscan and projectile weapons. This is an issue for whatever reason does not exist to this degree in games like reflex or qw (both use lag reconcilliation).
