Soon! The playoffs (end of April) will be Bo3 group, Bo5 semi, Bo7 grand.

Random Semi-Related Thoughts (directed at no one in particular):
I'm not opposed to running single elimination tournaments either mind you. However that is the only way to have a Bo5+ finals without time becoming a factor. Currently the NA Duel Cups are averaging 4 to 5 hours in length. I talk to the players and listen to feedback about what is working and what needs to be changing. After talking with players, viewers, and friends I feel that time frame is about right just right. I'm always open to new ideas. Just remember that if I don't implement changes it does not mean I am ignoring the feedback. Of course you can't please everyone and there are a couple players with high reyting that disagree with everything about the events. They may be reyted high when it comes to elo, but since they never sign up I stopped listening to them.

didn't that get patched a while ago?

I use wait commands for things like loading alternate gfx configs, net_port cycling, etc... but I'm pretty sure adding the "wait" cvar into a script for anything in game related isn't a good idea.

I guess that still doesn't answer your question. How do I feel about rocket jump scripts? Show me a situation where it would actually be more useful than just knowing how to rocket jump. I have never heard or seen of an example where a rocket jump script is as game changing as autohop (which is available to everyone by default)

yeah, i never really understood how a one-size-fits-all RJ script could possibly be more useful than actually knowing how to RJ properly, which grants you so much more control in terms of height, direction of thrust (giggity), and self-damage taken. but i guess it's just one step away from timenudge in terms of hax, right? :P

Everything you can script in quake without using external code is legal. Most pros have rj scripts in their cfg. If you find a way to script aimbot using vstr its legal. Everything is fair game if its not 3rd party

Flair is right in that it's probably worth learning to just rocket jump.

But if you have to use it I don't think there is anything wrong or you would gain any advantage to be honest, like here is a basic script it basically make you look down, fire and jump, recenters the mouse.

seta www "wait;wait;wait;wait"
seta rjump_1 "set freelook 0;set cl_pitchspeed 999;+lookdown;vstr www;+attack;+moveup"
seta rjump_2 "set cl_pitchspeed 140;-lookdown;set freelook 1;-attack;-moveup"
seta rjump "vstr rjump_1;vstr www;vstr rjump_2;vstr www;centerview"

I used to use this to get a quick vertical rocket jump, to be honest for me its just easier to rocket jump now, but I guess if you are a noob or you want some additional assistance then yea that works.

If anyone is learning to play and is having trouble with rocket jumping or plasma climbing I do have a suggestion. Try binding jump to mouse2 (right click). You can still jump normally with space or whatever key you have it on, but the synergy of jumping and shooting with the mouse hand (which you are also moving to perform the jump) is very natural and works very well for many people.

My life refuses to comment so I will apologize on its behalf.

~~We'll either have the cup this coming Sunday~~ OR we will only run 5 cups this season and the prize money will be put towards the playoffs. I have not decided since I am still dealing with other issues

Maybe even this Saturday so we can avoid scheduling conflicts with #nactf.ql draft. I will try to contact players who attend regularly and see if there are any dates that we can all agree on.
