That format is dog crap... give like a day or a week to submit each demo then move on to the next round. Race like DeFRaG doesn't really work well with a format like this because the best times are usually grinded big time and no one is that consistent, especially if you're gonna chuck on a small time limit (even 1 hour is small) there's not that much chance you'll see a great time, especially from those who are rusty and this format also works a lot better for all timezones.

Not Sure right now, Theres plenty of time to make the chose. The rules are not set in stone, they can be changed if need be, ill sort it out as i go.

Theres been a map update to the list, OL and Jc have been replaced.

Will have a Server up and running in time for the cup.

Also if you are up for taking part in this then reply to this post with im in or +1 etc, just to give me an idea of numbers. There server should have enough player slots but you never know.

strange point system . what if one map will play 10 players and other map will play 4 players?

and how will be played one map? 4 times ? strafe vql, strafe pql , weap vql and weap pql?

No vq3 it seems.

Rules are set out, its Strafe & weapons for the full cup, Start to finnish.

Everyone who signs in will take part on all the maps( in this case 4 maps) and at the end the points will be added up to find who has finnished where.

This is my first time running a Race cup and trying to find a system that is fair and even. As of right now i am trying a points system to see how it works. I will be running more race cup over the next few months, and if the points system is not quite 100% spot on then ill have to tweak it till i find the right balance.

I have a server being setup right now and will be ready in time for the cup :).

How are they boring? Boring to spectate? all they do is make the run faster lol. Saying they're boring makes no sense, just sounds lazy.

Those are shit maps regardless, plus I already posted here saying Overlord was a bad map when it was originally in the pool.

I think it should be optional at least to use a "pre run". Still doesn't answer my question how it makes it boring though. Race is a grind for most maps.

Because rank 1 runs shouldn't be about who has the longest prerun, but about who has the fastest run. Having people prerunning for 10minutes out of the 15 instead of doing the runs for 15, how is that not boring?

The fastest runs in most if not all maps use a pre run, what you're saying makes no sense.

So make it optional. Some people go for the faster times with it, others go for a slower but easier time. People being able to use or not use it in the mean time would be optimal.

The cup actually worked out pretty well, thanks a lot LordSoth. Maybe it should be 30 main next time with newly made maps specifically for the cup (hello w_w)?
