The problem with the quake community is elitist pieces of shit like the OP. I have considered quitting the game, as I am ashamed to be associated with some of the asshats that play this game. They join servers and spew bullshit about other players, passing judgement on players with less skill than them. If a player isn't as good as you, be proud at what you have accomplished, but there is never a need to pass judgement or put anyone down. At the end of the day, it's a fucking game. These same people are then bitching when all the servers are empty and they cant find a match, but with this environment, would anyone expect new players to continue playing?

(The irony that I am both passing judgement and putting down the OP in the post is not lost upon me - but in my opinion, this toxic behavior has no place in the game, and the community will only be better with OP gone.)

VKS is one of the nicest people in the game, and I would much prefer to play with decent human beings than with elitist pieces of shit who have only their success at Quake to be proud of in life. I am glad to see the OP has departed. May the rest of the elitists please follow suit.

New players are not playing the game not because of the toxic community actually. It's because they don't like cartoony and pixelated games. If people like VKS had not stepped forward when the game was decentralized, none of us would be playing any longer.

I agree with Hep. Vks is a friendly guy who does a great service to the community for providing servers. Also, the 4v4-only attitude gets dull as well. I hadn't heard this at all for the last few years before the ebattlegrounds tournament. Sure, some people wouldn't like 6v6+ CA matches on Overkill, which I can get. But, the 4v4 rigidity is new. If folks are really annoyed at playing a 7v7 match on Black Cathedral, they can just play another 4v4 match on a different VKS server.

If you truly know better than Marco and VKS how to optimize a server, why don't you help the community by setting one up? Find solutions, not problems.

Good point. Hmm. That's a pretty good fucking point. Tydeus is a real life homosexual whereas VKS is actually quite decent in RL. At first I wanted to trash VKS because he sucks at the game but you just provided us with a different perspective. VKS is the person with a legitimate personality and Tydeus is a fucking idiot and he just kicks anyone who dares to mention his fucking name and his server is pretty much shit and vacant most of the time. No one even wants to play there when they are so many options. I remember pre-transition no one went to his shitty server because of his auto-elo-kick filter. He made it virtually impossible for me to smurf on new accounts.
