quake sens * 3.3 = overwatch equivalent sens

in quake I use 3.1 @ 400DPI which is 33cm/360. in overwatch that'd be 10.3 which isn't an option so I use 10.

float values are coming but the slider only allows integer values for sens atm. if you wanted to get the exact cm/360 in ow you're gonna need to fool with ur mouse DPI.

100/30 is the factor for overwatch (=3.3 repeating) not 3.03 like i said before

ah yeah ok. I'll stick to sens 3 because 3.33_ is closer to 3 than 4.

and i've made some calculations, which give me ~25.5cm/360° in OW instead of ~23.1cm in QL and ~23.3cm in RFLX.
So that's like ~2.3cm difference, I guess it's barely noticeable especially since i don't use any accel.

So yeah, my sens in QL : 23.1cm/360° (sens 1)
in RFLX : 23.3cm/360° (sens 3.8)
in OW : 25.5cm/360° (sens 3)

so yeah, like i said 2.3cm is not much, i can deal with it and maybe wait until they implement their new sens settings so that i can have sens 3.3 in OW (which would obviously give me ~23.2cm/360°

in my experience you start to feel a difference in sensitivity at 4cm. I mean if you add or remove anything lower than 4cm, you barely notice the difference, and it's easy to adapt.

so yeah 2.3cm is not much, and doesn't really change the way i move my mouse.

also the fov isn't a hor+ fov so 90 fov isnt the same as in ql. the max fov of 103 translates to something like 86 quake live fov iirc.

It sucks i played 1200 games in closed Beta and then they change the system overnight and don't add decimal places? What is worse that was near 2 months ago and its still not added. I will not buy it on release if its not done by then.

feels like the game has a really small angle snapping. the mouse movement feels robotic somehow, i can't really tell. maybe i just have to use to it.
koth map structures are pure cancer, the rest is fine. i can recommend the game so far.

yeah and i have also 144hz 1ms monitor + 250fps in quake and 200+fps in overwatch so yeah i would have noticed it ;)

my mouse is a razer abyssus 2014 1800dpi 500hz plug&play (driverless) i play on sens 1 @ quake and sens 3 @ overwatch. It's not exactly the same cms/360° for the 2 games but it's still close.

so like i said everything is fine, the game runs smoothly and i don't notice any input lag or something

Speaking of the Abyssus 2014, I installed the drivers and when I close the program the sensitivity lowers. So, if I uninstall them, how can I know if the mouse is performing at the 1800dpi setting (native)?

there's no onboard memory for the aby 2k14, except for the hz rate (i mean if you install synapse and set it to 1000hz then uninstall synapse it will still stay on 1000hz)

you can't change the dpi without synapse, and if you were playing for example at 400dpi with synapse, then if you uninstall synapse it will go back to native 1800dpi.

Don't change any of the default settings. If you do you will forever think 'what if i change x in my config'. Once you are in config hell, u can never leave.

played like 9-11 hours of OW in 2 days.

the only hero interesting to play is "soldier : 76" (called "soldat : 76" in french) most of the heroes are boring to play or too noob-friendly.

tried like 4-5 different heroes until realizing that the most fun to play by far is soldier:76. Yesterday played 6-7 hours of soldier:76 only.

the game is ok. Some aspects are fine/nice while others suck real bad. Balance of the game is not perfect, but it's beta, so won't critizise it, but there are so many heroes and abilities that imho BLIZZARD will get a hard time at balancing everything, gl to them really.

I'm just staring at the fact that you say most of the heroes are noob-friendly yet you say that the most interesting hero is Soldier: 76.

soldier 76 is literally the easiest character to play lol.....and easily not the most interesting

you don't like tracer?
she is kind of hero that ultimately focus on trace aim and dodging at the same time like lg in quake

genji has a high skill cap and its quite fun to wallclimb jump dash around firing shurikens

i don't like tracer no, for the following reasons :

- too low HP/AP
- too high weapon spread, means that you have to be quite close to your opponent in order to hit decently
- the teleportation is kind of annoying/random/confusing
- her ultimate is shit

in comparison to soldier:76 :

+ decent ammount of hp/ap
+ machinegun with reasonable spread
+ possibility to heal yourself and your team m8s at any position of the map
+ sprint (nice to chase or avoid fights/escaping a fight)
+ mini-RL/PG launcher (i mean a projectile weapon that goes very fast and can deal quite a lot of damage)
+ decent ultimate, can get easy 2-3 kills on not tanky heroes if done right

soldier:76 feels much more balanced than tracer and whenever i meet a tracer when i'm soldier i win more often than i lose. His hmg feels much more consistent than tracer's double gun.

I see, i agree with your 76's points.
so far i feel like tracer prefers high sensitivity and control point maps(close and mid range fights) and 76 prefers lower sensitivity and payload maps(mid and long range fights).

tracer actually has high hp because of rewind (unless some accidents happen)
even more when your team has mercy or lucio
so i think one of good tracer's playstyle is like this

1. getting close to the opponents
2. focus on headshots while dodging, or from their behind (480 potential damage as far as i know). the gun has the spread but you can still kill a lot of heros with 1 clip (1 second).
3. if that didint kill the opponent, you still have blink for another chance 1 sec later.
4. bomb is actually good especially on control maps. sometimes needs predictions but it is usually how you get multi/quad kill potg

#2 should be the hardest part but i think that will be even easier once we learn 1)how to dodge against each heros, 2)get used to enemymodels 3)learn maps and health pack locations.

for ex if you focus on headshots, you can kill mei(250hp) before you get frozen even when mei started shooting first. so I dont feel like mei is a good counter for tracer in close range.

Did you make that happen in game, or is that based on theory? I've played a little bit overwatch (only pubs, no scrims), and I have played a lot of tracer (actually my most played class). And I didnt even think of going for headshots, but Im gonna try out your suggestion once the game is released.

she does double damage with headshots, even if you just hit a bit of headshots with her clip you'll get a lot more kills \o/

yes, and there's spread/recoil after about 4 shots of a burst.

yes, i did a lot. not always, but will practice to become able to always do that so i can help my team.
you can kill mei, lucio mercy widow etc with 1 clip if you can keep hitting headshots in close range.
so far unfortunately we dont see a lot of good tracers because ppl in closed beta were not that good at that hero.
but i think we will see great ones soon.

Might be an idea to adjust your dpi down so u are able to make smaller adjustments in game

1800dpi is perfect for me, and i don't need to drivers ;)
