Really enjoyed the simple, straight-forward style and the music was neat, too.
I was thinking of doing a short video/compilation myself (and whenever I see a cool video like this, I get hyped to do it), but I have no idea how to make one, starting with what programs to use, which settings in those programs and even if I had the appropriate tools, I'm not sure if I could make a decent video. Are there noob-friendly tutorials? How was your process? Did you have a lot of prior relevant knowledge?
I'm not super experienced in making videos; this was the second frag video I've made and the first one was even simpler editing-wise.
Both of the videos followed the same kind of workflow:
When I had harvested enough demos with usable frags in them, I started to watch some of those with
different music selections to see how they fit the flow and feel of the game. After knowing what music to use, I started to cut demos in wolfcam to smaller demos that contain just a frag plus some time before and after the actual frag content.
After that, with a selection of cut demos, I rendered those to movie files in wolfcam.
For video editing, I used Blender, because it's a) free and b) readily available for Linux.
Blender can take some learning, but whenever I hit a spot where I didn't know how to do something, I just googled it and I usually found the answer easily.
If you're wondering wether you can make a decent video, I'd say you probably can if you know what you want. And even if you don't, making this sort of videos is pretty fun.
