Different mousepad. Consider an Artisan imho.

What type of material is that?

Hey , i love the glide and performance of my glass mousepad.

But i dont like the hard surface and the sound etc.

So i got a Artisan SHIDEN-KAI MID M Snow white

It has glass coating , quite similar feel of glide to my glasspad , but softer and quiter. You can bend it some, but too much and it will break.

Only thing i regret is buying medium version which was too small for me :P

And the best thing is that you have to constantly wipe it clean with your hand, so coming from glass mousepad you will feel right at home ;))

How does it feel compared to plastic/hard surfaces? Is it somewhat in between that and glass?

Getting kinda lost at all these Artisan mousepads. There are too many ><

I have had no good experiences with plastic, plastic feels smooth until you stop the mouse, then it sticks , atleast ones ive tried.

I have 1 alu pad aswell which feels great, but i have tried other alu pads also that sticks with a non moving mouse,.

This mousepad has very little friction , doesnt stick, and still feels soft like a thin cloth . The best mousepad i have tried so far .

Logitech g640 cloth is sticky compared to this one , aswell as the razer gloliathus speed .

Micro movements feels great , like a shaft battle.

But it doesnt stop the mouse like a cloth pad, snap rails will not be as consistently accurate, thats the downfall . Also it does skid about some on my table, but some tape fixes that ! =P

It does make some scatching noises , but not as bad as a glasspad. Depends on the mousefeet also, hyperglides on my wmo makes much more noise then on my fk2 .

Closest ive come to glasspad feeling without the hard feeling of glass.

How often do you replace skates for SHIDEN? And which model? Isnt there SHIDEN and SHIDEN-KAI?

Large plastic mousepad and apply silicone spray, less friction than any glass pad and it won't wear the glides at all.

Used this method with Everglide Giganta in 2001 until 2006, same mouse, same feet. (IM1.1a)

almost identical. shidenkai is slightly lower density (the glass coating) and therefore little bit lower friction.

but seems it's been out of stock on artisan website for some time now :\ have to get it from somewhere else

im using a zowie za12 on my icemat, its fucking FLAWLESS son.

Just keep a rag and spray handy to wipe it once in the morning and you are set to game forever.

What do you spray on it? And how often do you change skates?

water or glass cleaner, and i haven't changed the skates on my zowie in like 3 months

u should get this =p, Large version, i have the Medium but big regrets, too small . I have sens about 30cm \ 360 , but can only play on this size because i have accel with offset for quick turns. But if my hand isnt centered on the mat perfectly, well then i will fall off :P

How does it feel for you arm? Is it annoying?
And how often do you need to replace skates?

glasspad is annoying, this feels nice. Some dust now and then which you just brush off with yourt arm, easily worth it.

I have not had this mousepad for so long, but it does not feel like the mousefeet will get worn down like a on a glasspad.

Shipping was not bad at all , dont remember exact . It should say on checkout on amazon.

This pad actually came directly from artisan in japan i beleive , amazon is just taking the orders.

And because it came from asia, i did not have to pay 25%taxes, because they useally always set as "gift" , lol.

Ive heard that shiden is a less slick and softer version of shiden kai .

That mouse is only good for high sens or accel, the max tracking speed is so low.
