Like I've mentioned in the beginning of all the OW hype, it's not fun to watch and regardless of who the casters are it's going to be an incredibly difficult task keeping people entertained over the long run, however when you're playing the game it's a lot more fun.
This is like CTF with follow killer, ruins everything. When you spectate a single player for a while, like when I am watching Cooller or Fazz, it's OK to understand what is happening, but when you are constantly switching between 12 players, then it's madness. The casters will need to learn to give limited time to certain players in the teams, otherwise it's difficult to follow the game.
This is also a problem of 6 player format, I think the gamewould have been more comprehensible and better with 5 players.
What a lot of people on ESR dont understand is that OW essentially is a MOBA in first-person view.
Would you watch a moba and expect to be able to follow everything without knowing all the abilities and character traits?
To be honest I think most Quakers just want OW to fail for some reason. And yes, it worked with Shootmania, but this time it wont work I think, the game really struck a chord with a big, big slice of the gamer population
The people who play OW from the QL community in AUS are either playing it competitively in tournaments or not at all, I don't see anyone playing it for 'fun' though, including me!
hah cypher-genji did some nice kills strikes, ...fucking genji man. Almoast annyoing as tracer. ... cooler on support tho, lol? ...fu you cooler fans :PPPP Nevertheless he did his part very good.
... but nice games overall, quakemaster race idd. I guess it did help playing a game that trully is a fast-paced game.
was also confused by cooller playing support, ain't that much familiar with the game to know if that position actually requires so much skill, otherwise would be a waste having cooller playing it. anyway seems to work in their favor, reunited is a good team.
je lucio is important, aoe heal, speed boost, has ulti to counter ultis... (extra hp), pushes ppl away, like anoying genjis and tracers.... damn flys, i like to junkrat their asses, also snipers and pharahs, very next level difficult.
cooller is playing support because i guess he's team leader. And supports usually have projectile weapons (lucio, the main hero of cooller, has a plasmagun-like)
Anox did another 2:0 upset after that and then lost 1:3 in the finals. It was cool to see a bunch of people who don't know anything about quake saying "CYPHER CYPHER CYPHER" in twitch chat.
They didn't qualify, yet. The rules are like this:
There are four qualifiers where the winner of each qualifier qualifies. Then, the 12 teams who earned the most points throughout the four qualifiers also qualify. You get points for placing, and Anox placed 2nd, so they have a headstart on points.
I feel the same way trying to watch dota or SC2, coz i never played them.
Yet, thousands of ppl watch that on regular basis. I agree, game is nothing special, but its quite hard to watch and understand whats going on if you didn't play at least a bit.
In SC2 at least there are casters that can say "awww shit, this build against that build is gonna get rekt". Then you watch two unit ballz fight each other - simple.
Overwatch is not as bad as WoW arena, but it's pretty bad.
