Funny. I met like 5 cheaters in 7 years, of 4, i had demos, got them banned soon.

I dont see whats funny, if you found only 4 in 7 years it means you dont play very much. Btw dek is calling most good players cheaters. This week he told me 60 pct of QL are cheaters nowadays. This was clearly a troll but i think he was serious to some extent.

I wouldn't call about ~15k games combined "not very much". The funny thing is that I too get cheat accusations, at least 2 a day, even by relatively decent (retarded) players.

Few years ago, when I specced a game, I wasn't surprised to spec nerds using cheats in QL.
Today there is a solid playerbase -which I think will not grow anymore sadly enough but- consisting of players who love the game as it is.
Cheater morons have little reason to play quakelive anymore, 'cause the game is...fading away into the eternal unknown... too hard to put effort into... I dunno.
I guess assholes gettin' satisfaction in fucking things up are looking into more popular games.

I think in the many years I've played all the quake titles I've come across or come into contact with maybe less than 10 cheaters who are aimboting, wall hacks are a little harder to figure out if the person is not blatantly pre-aiming corners but again all of that shit is just semantics.

There are a massive influx of the new people who cry hacks when they get rickroll'd by someone who has like 10+ years more experience and it's also always a nice feeling when someone shit talks and accuses you for hacks but hey it's more of an ego-related thing. People don't like losing on an individual level, if it's team based it's easier to blame the team than look at your own mistakes.

its simple. new guy joins some server. gets heavily outaimed and outdamaged, after some weeks he doesnt make the leaps he expected. and figures that people have to cheat to reach this skill. and go cheat themselves...

It's not that simple, you have to be made from shit material to be a cheater, but luckily there are some sign at least:
- has multiply nicks
- attention-whore
- needs validation from random people on the internet and other players in a video game
- rages a lot
- whines about teams, weapons, teammates, etc.
- feels insecure in weaker teams, underdog situations
- many of them prefers their profile private even from "friends"
- plays absolutely nothing else (there are some very good games among every hundred shit or so, I think it's fishy if somebody doesn't even try them at least)
- full of hate

That's the thing though, in today's society people want instant gratification and not go through the whole learning process.

the only thing i wanted to see when quake champions is released, to have a real VAC support ! just say

You will have a cheat free game for two days :P Then the scum will have coded cheats:( VAC is useless!! it can only ever catch public cheat downloads!! Private hacks never get caught unless its blatant.

The coders make cheats turn off when VAC scans!!

Why does certain things like injectors or whatever have to be running when you are playing a game anyway?
