seems like k1llsen always chokes when playing evil. I don't really know why. Must be evil's playstyle that is fucking hard for k1llsen. Or just what goes through his mind when he's playing evil, too much stress perhaps.

Killsen's whole quakecon was a big choke, it wasn't just Evil. His aim was spot on, mechanically he was in one of the best shapes we've seen of him.

But mentally he wasn't there, he struggled badly with everyone he's played, Spartie, Fraze, even the ancient completely inactive Zero4 gave him any sort of troubles

A pity because he could have performed better. He basically replaced Dahang in this quakecon

But at least he got third place

I really doubt zero4 was inactive leading up to quakecon.

Edit: I don't think he choked at all. Rapha and Evil are just better, 3rd is a fantastic finish with this level of competition.

Realistically 3rd place was his minimum but also maximum this year.

According to Zero4 himself and everyone in the american scene, yes he's been almost completely inactive. He has a full time job, plus a family, plus connection troubles.

Killsen was doing one mistake after another, in most matches he looked almost clueless about what to do next. Completely overwhelmed.

He played much worse than he usually does online, while hitting as hard if not harder.
