I plan on switching from win XP TO WIN7/8 very soon but i need to be sure before that i can OC all my USB ports to 1000Hz.

You can't overclock on USB 3.0 as standard BUT there is a way around it. You need to use the guide in that youtube video noacc provided above from ngohq - comment 2. To get it to work with USB 3.0 you'll need to go into your bios and disable the XHCI controller - essentially making the port USB 2. Might be in a section called Integrated peripherals, or USB….. something along those lines. 500hz is better for the MLT04.

*** Edit *** - If you're using a macbook with only usb3 ports, I don't think it can be done :( It's not possible for normal users to get access to the "bios" of MacBooks. Lots of better mice than wmo anyway, maybe time to move on :)

its not a wmo its a imo. last time (granted, a few yrs ago) i tested a buncha new 'cutting edge' mice and the old school m$ mice, the ones i had which were big sellers at the time, still werent better.

i got it to be 500mhz once or twice at the time i first made this thread, but it doesnt stick after reboots and from my memory doesnt always work.

im gonna try now again, but there must be a way to disable usb3 via macoSX into bootcamp is there? or install usb2 drivers of some sort?

Would solve your problem though! :O) When you upgrade to win8 or higher you most likely won't be able to overclock. I managed to overclock USB 2.0 port on win7 64 bit but that was difficult. Not gonna go through the trouble ever again (win8 anyway) and wmo is such a bad mouse for anything but quaking!

Update on this windoze/Apple garden adventure, in case it helps others:
the tutorial in the vid here does work on my Mid 2012 Retina Macbook Pro with only USB3 ports, for a WMO @ 500hz, but unless i jus messd it up before, it needs a slight difference:

I think the trick is to make sure u Bootcamp INTO a test mode, and not bootcamp, change to test mode, then only reboot back to windows. So change to test mode, then leave Windows Bootcamp first.

Then once u go back in windows in test mode to finish settin it up, dont reboot again until the very end. The "Filter" setup program should be kept open and never closed except by the reboot, just like in the tutorial.

Judging by this i think it possibly needs to be done everytime the laptop leavs the Bootcamp install of windows, or shuts down, but i havent tested that yet. It survives a simple reboot of windows, testing with old mouserate utility and MouseMovementRecorder.exe. Havent tried the IMO or 1000hz but shud be same.

I got a new motherboard a few days ago. It has usb2 and usb3 ports.

My WMO is plugged into a USB 2 port.

I had tried for hours to overclock my USB polling rate (hidusbf) with no results and I figured it's because all my usb ports are considered by the program as USB3 ports.

So the only way at the moment is uninstalling my Intel USB3.0 controller driver.

Any idea how to keep the USB 3 driver and being able to increase the USB2 ports rate ?

EDIT: probably by reinstalling the USB3 driver afterward. I haven't tried yet.

A new version of hidusbf which works with USB3 has been out for some time. It's also digitally signed so no reboots and no messing with test modes.
