The pope is being driven back to the Vatican from a conference and, time not being pressing, and traffic being light, he asks his driver if he might drive as he hasn’t had a chance to drive since becoming pope.
The driver, of course, agrees.
The pope starts driving and, being out of the habit, he’s a bit shaky – and catches the eye of a police officer who pulls him over
The officer approaches and sees the driver – signals “one moment” and backs up to call in on his radio
“um, I have a situation here – I’ve pulled over someone really important – I’m not sure how to proceed”
“How important? – who is it?”
“I don’t know – but the pope’s his driver”
