Reminds me of apparition cheating a few years ago. His ELO goes up 600 points in a few months he gets accused of cheating in $ tournament and everyone laughs it off like nobody cheats. I wonder what happened to apparition they said he as going to be the next big thing even zorakwar passed him up.

Please start using a screenshot client as this problem is easily avoided.

A screenshot client hooks into the game and takes screenshots off of the buffer and then sends that screenshot to a server.

The better option would be video but i doubt people would be up for that.

Technically it is but it doesnt do the same thing a cheat does.
Cheats hook into the game and either modify functions or call functions in the game.

While a screenshot client would hook in and just grab a frame the same way streaming software does game capture.

In history there have been plenty of known lan players who were sooner or later caught cheating(any esport game). It stuns me how insanely naive the quake community still is about cheats, feels like pre2000 right here.

It's not only the quake community. ANY gaming community is completely oblivious to any form of cheating in general. Seems that the general knowledge about it is regressing.

Remember the early internet? Everyone was so suspicious, "not true" was the default, "trap" the first thing anyone tought. Now internet users are getting dumber and dumber, and thrusting anybody way more. This is a sentiment that i've heard confirmed by many people.

In the Cs community for example, 99% of the players seems to share the opinion that not only pros, but high ranked people in general don't cheat, period. "It's impossible", "why should they, they're already good", and a plethora of other mind-boggling retardness in spite of counter strike having had the biggest cheating scandal in the videogame history, with top pros cheating on lan, detailed histories of hundred-dollars prized custom cheat codes injectable trough the mouse memory, and whatnot.

But it never happened for many people- it can't happen, ever. Why, i don't know. It should be studied. I have some theories. But that's how it is.

Good players cheat to gain advantage over equal players. In this case people are cheating cause they are convinced everyone else does too.

It is a Comedy how this Community works. you see mediocre players struggling to break 1700 elo for 4 years and they get nowhere being in the same skill level they have been in the last 10years.
A new cheat releases and all of a sudden over night they become peak rail and rocket masters while still having shitty combat skills and no clue of what they are doing.
The same can be said for people who have been struggling around 1800 elo for the last 4years that have now all of a sudden started beating everyone on a Daily basis almost over night.
Cheat releases and people start getting good all of a sudden after stagnating for years.
What are the odds right?
