Same here. Only cpm3adr0 worked, but the textures looked kinda weird and some seemed to be missing.

if you are having issues with maps msg me on discord @twitch.tv/dr0_vision is my name on discord. the maps can only be used on my cpma world duel servers.

i have tested all maps in my servers and they work fine

The server situation for this game is fucked to the point where I wouldn't even play it if I wanted to.

I live near Chicago, best ping to NYC at 66 (out of 10 US servers). I used to ping 50ish to NYC and TX and there were CHI servers.

In contrast, I ping sub 50 to 45 quakeworld servers, sub 30 to 11 servers.

Same boat as you, I'm in WI and ping 70-85 now, before ~55. I have a feeling the it is either fucked routing or something due to new server hosts (in the past the community pretty much used Maverick servers).

well ofcourse the problem is routing... arent there any us proxy servers set up atm? i always use it because of terrible routing and get anywhere from 15 to 40 less ping...

I found a solution.

Let's say you want to connect to Vixterra CPM - US EAST 50.116.59.93:27960

In the console type

/setu prx 50.116.59.93:27960
/connect shacknws.com:30000 (qwfwd server in wisconsin) (qwfwd works for qw and q3)

When the message /reconnect ASAP! pops up type /reconnect.

You should now be connected to the server with a better ping.

One hop should be good for anywhere in the U.S. If you want to connect to UK you'll want to add a hop in NYC. At this point I don't know how to do that though.

you can string more then one hop if you find you can achieve better routes... i cant remember the format right now but i think its just ip addres after ip adress... google should know.

I found out how, here it is for anyone interested.

Additional proxies are added in the /setu prx line before the game server ip and linked with @.

2 proxies for example would be (WI to NYC to UK)

/setu prx goodolddays.traxo.net:30000@185.10.203.103:27960

/connect shacknws.com:30000

Unfortunately the additional proxy didn't further reduce my ping to this UK server.

66 ping in cpma>50 ping in qw. Nevertheless, hope it gets sotted.

i play cpma in eu servers with anywhere from 80 to 90 ping and it is great. 100 to 120 is still playable but not great. the cpma netcode is awsome and for someone to complain about have 50 to 60 ping is funny.

i have personally tried all the maps on my servers with a friend and they work as for cpm3adr0 is not on the server and i will be adding that map shortly. just wanted ppl to load the maps and get a feel for the changes that were made, which would be banners and logos in certain places. once again if anyone has an issue with the maps in my servers which are the cpma world duel servers UK nand NYC pls pm me on discord. discord alias is twitch.tv/dr0_vision

an update on maps not working. I have found that quake 3 encounters and error when trying to load the custom maps [ request feature was omitted at compile time] this only occurs with cnq3 and ioq3. that maps work with dez's haxor client that can be found for dl on our cpm discord channel in the info section and the maps also work with quake3e or edawn. i am looking into map fix for cnq3 but as of now haxor DEZ's client is the best running client to my knoweldge and i recommend using it for more reasons then just these maps.

okay another update. thanks to bisk we were able to locate the issue with the maps with cnq3 and normal q3 client and the fix is on the way. i will repost a new map dl link shortly. sorry and thank you for patience

just another quick update i have just about finished all the maps and have tested them on every q3 client there is and they are confirmed working. i just have to polish a few things and the uploaded download map pack will be available soon. thanks agian

Hah, I can barely strafe jump any more. I played against bots a bit, it's hard to get the game to run smoothly and feel right. I've applied an accel fix for Windows 10 and turned off the Xbox recording feature, both of which helped. There was one other tweak that also seemed to help a little but it still feels really stuttery on a powerful gaming machine. Are there any modern guides on getting the game smooth under Windows 10?

It's interesting playing a bit again. My abject hatred for knock back messing with friction has only increased with time. Also we should have gone with a 1750ms reload, 100 damage rail.

Still playing daily, and didn't notice any issues when I migrated to Windows 10. Did very much appreciate the difference moving to a 144Hz monitor tho. Slap sv_fps up a bit, and it feels delicious.

Oh, actually, here's a thought:

If you're using r_mode 0, I've noticed recent nvidia driver builds no longer detect CNQ3 as an active process in quite the same way as they did before.

Try adding a custom profile for the executable in the nvidia driver, and force GPU power to maximum, vsync to off. Otherwise, vsync still applies if the driver is set to 'application decides' globally, and your GPU may stay at idle/desktop state.

Also, if you haven't already, make sure you've removed Geforce Experience, and downgraded to 368.81. Everything since is broken as fuck.

If it's not settling down after that, it may just be driver micro stutter, and there's not much you can do for that, other than look at something like gsync/freesync to mask it.

yo, if you're on NVidia, uninstall Nvidia HD Audio driver and the Nvidia 3d Vision drivers. They cause micro stutters in my GTX980 TI.

The new map pack is now available in the above map download link in the esr post. all maps have been tested and working on the following clients. quake3.exe, ioq3.exe, q3e.exe, h4xor.exe, and cnq3.exe. thanks again for your patience and hope you enjoy the maps. if you have already downloaded the old map pack please fully delete the old maps in your baseq3 before adding the new ones. after you have deleted the old maps that dont work on cnq3 then paste the new maps in your baseq3.
