- What can be worse than watching castrated movie-version of "Prometheus"? Greedy faggots from film disribution cutoff the most important scene of a whole movie - the speech of human race creator! Watch fan-cut extended version!
I disagree. I saw a part of that speech-explanation. And it's just to explain to the audience :/ It's often ruining a movie when there is a part that has to explain what the film is about.
There are so many hints from the start to the rooms and pictures and holograms in the film that there is more to the story that this speech is just for the audience that doesn't really watch the movie.
Memento was a true masterpiece and one would expect something similar from his following films. Instead you get some superhero movie (the third of which is really really bad) and some blockbusters that want to be deep but fail quite miserably at it.
- I suppose that they all contain the Engineer's speech - the most important scene of the movie, which was cut off. These scenes where released as additional materials on DVD, and they used by fans for fan-versions. P.S. It's speech explains some questions of this movie.
well judging from this particular trailer, it's alien 1 with updated visuals. what's the point? would much rather watch(and enjoy) old movies, ty.
upcoming alien, blade runner, ghost in the shell -> brace for disappointment.
I was hoping prometheus 2 was going to carry on from the first one and we would follow David and Elizabeth as they search for the home of the engineers
Looks like that already happened and we will just get David recounting the story and Elizabeth is probably dead. She is credited though but I'm putting my money on flashbacks
Yeah. It was logical to see arriving Elizabeth and David's head into a magical, unbelievable, mysterious land of proto-gods called heaven, new dialog with "gods", their only true logical decision to "waste these fucked monkeys immediately!". Than arriving hundreds of "croissants" on Earth, total cleaning of humanity and than "dead-hand" systems triggering and total nuking. Everybody saw the past Earth in alternate ending of Alien 4. (in that century humanity had colonies on other planets, and some people survive)
only NASA would be all fluffy and pathetic about exploration, NASA are the last to travel anywhere
even without all the gay music everytime a door opens, prometheus is still rubbish and exactly the same as alien, although it would'nt kill the whole franchise, of the physiological horror sci-fi atmosphere
with all the moon bases and shit on mars, man not going to be all fluffy and pathetic, man will be like royal marine engineers setting up camp and sending out drones and investigating the alien shit
whats off topic, the team in prometheus are all chessie NASA types out and all excited about the exploration and is the only sorry ass excuss to having the spielberg soundtrack nonstop throughout the whole movie
its not how its going to be in real life, the private sector are already taking over, the nerdy scientists will be told to say in their quarters like the second alien movie
Sci-fi horror? The first 3 Alien movies are way superior (even Alien 3 which I think is underrated) to others. Other solid sci-fi horror movies (imo): Predator, The Thing (1982), Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane (very cool quasi-sequel), The Cabin In The Woods (twist on classic teen slasher movies), The Fly, and Cube.
Overrated but people like em: Event Horizon, Sunshine, Pitch Black.
Really good list, The Thing feels a little outdated in terms of film making for me and I still love Event Horizon (+ Signs) and Sunshine (for it's perfect flow).
The recent chapter of the thing (3-4 years ago?) is a decent/solid prequel but very similar to the original (almost a remake), except for the actors :)
Anyway, i think the carpenter's version is still a very good movie to watch nowadays, i cant say the same for aliens (the second movie, aged very badly)
