1888mhz can still run prime95's torture test and 3d mark, 3d mark ends up being slower then 1666mhz, but only by 5 points, so its probably graphics card or something else

you can run more then 2000mhz RAM, but gigabyte being gigabyte have been retards and made the max weight for a heatsink 450g so you need water, unless you find a air cooler which comes with new mounting brackets like water coolers

it takes abit of juice to get over 2100mhz

the heatpipes were the main reason i brought it, and its the first gigabyte board with a bios reset button too, its the first gigabyte board for actual overclocking, they have always sucked, and the cooling on the northbridge has been letting them down since the year early 2000s

the specifications says it can only support 2000mhz ram OC'd

i need a new heatsink todo anything else with my CPU, prime will push it up, 6c below the TDP

i would'nt know, to get any decent overclocking, you have to go through all the advanced RAM timing settings, just changing this-this-this-this does'nt do anything of use

a mixture of this-this-this-this and advanced timing, brings the nano second latency down and heats up the northbridge with more GB/s passing through

Port buying hardware right now is very bad decision. In the past 2 years the prices are fire. I know because when I thought about selling my 5 year old shit on Ebay the cost 2nd hand was same prices I bought them as new. RAM has never been more expensive. By the way you are going to have so much fun with these new motherboards not booting up and lightning up like christmas trees with no explanation in the 200 page manual. I love when Asus intelligent overclock fails and clocks your RAM the wrong way that even flashing BIOS can't fix it, I adore the fact that suddenly the VGA light is on for no reason and I can't get picture even though I can hear I'm in Windows and the system boots fine, then it gets super interesting finding out what 2-3 buttons you need to press at the same time that only online people seems to know and the art of reading what the LED blinking sequence means. You will be surprised by the fact that these are common know issues that happened to everybody with these modern boards...trust me you will have a lot of fun and you will learn to love it. When the hardware is gold plated made in Japan bullshit but the firmware is made by Chinese programmers

p.s I've fixed few mobos in the past, it's been nerve racking experience .

most modern mobo's bypass needing to mess around with little jumpers in a pointless place which you can never get to, and just have a button to reset the bios to factory defaults, which can easily be pressed with a pencil going through all the PSU cables

Kokain, snatch a small speaker from an old chassie, I believe most new mobos still send sound messages when something is faulty? Tends to be easier to find problems with beeps imo. Maybe I'm way off though, mayby vendors stopped with beeps?

a 1070 and a ti 750 for a dedicated physX card will give you a extra 3->5 FPS extra which probably is'nt worth the extra electric, no games use physX unless they are running on a cheap engine

most of the time, the setup is slower when you check the dedicated physX box
