Get your rig ready because North America’s largest LAN party is set to return to Dallas for its 22nd year. QuakeCon 2017 will take place August 24–27 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.

An annual celebration of games and the people who play them, QuakeCon was founded in 1996 and has grown to become a major event that draws fans from around the globe. More than 10,000 gamers attended last year’s festivities, participating in the LAN party and partaking in a wide range of activities, panels, tournaments, workshops and exhibits from leading tech companies showcasing the newest hardware and gaming accessories. Over the years, attendees have also been treated to exclusive presentations and hands-on for several of Bethesda’s upcoming games, including DOOM, Dishonored 2, Quake Champions and more.

Do we see more of Quake Champions on QC?
What Pro Tournaments will be held?
Will there be Pro Tournaments for Quakelive and Doom 4 MP?
I guess the following months will answere this.

no worries, im sure fatal1ty has been practicing alot .

Actually throwing players almost straight into competition can be a fun thing to watch .

Remember they days when we could not list the 1-10 placings 2 years in advance of a competition ? =P

Players can get QC beta installed on theyr machines, and the ones best at putting in practice and understanding the game,will have a much better chance then useally in Quakelive.

I don't really remember to be honest. The main issue in 2014 was getting spartie who couldn't afford to pay for the whole trip on his own and was the reason we asked for 500€ on esr in the first place. With this we were able to meet his needs with the plane and then we split the remaining money into covering a portion of the hotel rooms (remember memento_mori made my trip possible by offering me to pay for the flight tickets on the first qcon so the money we collected there was obviously not for me per se). In 2015 I did get 450€ though which greatly helped fund the hotel room for me and Spart1e.

What I can tell is that both trips cost me more money in the end than I had ever spent before on any other european lan event. The donations really helped me (us) because without them I would've never been able to experience this, beeing a mere student without a dime and I'm grateful for it :).

Well some do have a point though, couldve done better with what we promised as perks go. In the end I did get out of my way to atleast film and provide some basic noob level montage to make some kind of a 'aftermath video' and it was so piss poor I think people had a lot of fun criticizing me :P. Usually not those who donated though, which is kinda interesting.

in 2015 fazz and I streamed practically all of our practise games, which I think was cool for the community but eventually I think it was us putting us into a small disadvantage considering the other participating teams were much more secretive in their training up to Qcon :D.

You do know I am the biggest advocate of Shpuld casting at Quakecon right? You have clearly never been on my stream and heard me talk about it... I always echo everything you said... I even go on (every time) to ask why Shpuld continues to commentate on Zlive's channel with the amount of time and dedication he puts in... people would follow him to his own. Even when I was regularly commentating Quake Live I was never invited, or well, I never enquired directly myself. So what's your point? In the end it's a job, an application, not a free ride based solely on the time you put in. id will "HIRE" whoever they believe best fits the position(s), maybe he didn't even ask?

To answer your question though, I've not commentated on any game for about two years. The last game was actually Quake though...
