Everyone on this site is already on their 30s or 40s, or will be when QC is released. By now no one here has (or should have) enough time to play Quake hours on end every day.

I know the likes of gstructor and heartless will reply to this stating idealist bullshit, without realizing by now time itself has set our priorities. Now it's choosing between either playing with your kids or playing the same computer games. Can't do both, in our now very little free time. Now we choose between having a successful career and earning money -improving our lives and of our families-, or not doing so because of knowingly wasting your time and your life playing Quake. If you maintain yourself then there's not even a choice.

Even "pros" can't, or shouldn't. By now all of them earn much more in real jobs than what they could earn by winning every single event of the year.

We need a quake revolution. Everyone who plays quake above certain skill (measured in weekly tournament performance), gets a guaranteed high income. If you have kids and don't teach them quake, you get a serious financial penalty. If your boss doesn't let you play quake, he gets a jail sentence. Any pro who plays quake for a pro team gets at least a million dollars per year. For anyone who disagrees or disobeys -> death.
