Been sending a couple of messages to syncerror spread out over the last year about this specific topic, never got an answer.

Hopefully they will as that will do nothing but good things for the community, i am also hoping they at least considered my other suggestion of allowing the client outputting a file with match details in json, this would allow for more automation and overlay black magic for streamers and event broadcasters.

If you are at work and get like 6 questions per minute about the game you're currently working at and should not reveal anything then yes you need to ignore them or you end up your day and realize that you did nothing.

Case by case, answering the same 5 questions that have been asked over and over might not be worth his time. I have seen the api been mentioned once before and no one has mentioned what i suggested other than me.

Only other suggestion i have sent has been about aggressive server side culling, which i never got a reply for either.
Though i now have a semi-answer to that from a PAX interview.


I get that they are busy, i know how much time and effort goes into it all. I just want game developers to spend more time into supporting game specific stream features as i really don't see anyone else doing it.

I also know how much effort it takes for the json dump thing i asked for as i have implemented it into my own project, it's a relatively small thing to ask for and is something i hope gets implemented down the line.

I might be wrong on one or two players, but in the grand scheme of things,
does it really matter? Whats worse is, I probably missed alot of cheaters.

play with said cheaters, may not be legit either.

I expect people to show up and prove me wrong, or try to prove that I cheat,
and im fine with it. I play CA only, purely for the rush, to fuel my addiction
for arenaline. I dont care about winning or losing, but merely the thrill of
a close action packed quake match. Q3/QL CA has been something I was drawn to
for the last 15+ years, and its just sad to see what has become of idsoftware
and the Quake franchise. RIP Quake.
