As stated before, if you are a well known (quake franchise) player you can just drop a mail to the dev team or syncerror personally, and they will provide you a key in no time. I didn't do this myself because I won the key lottery, but they were a good support during QL, and still are. I'm surprised to see you here momento, you should have figured this already ;)

I'm quite annoyed with id to be honest!
I've been a loyal supporter of their work since 1997 and still play alot of Doom 2, Quake 1 and Quakelive today and these are hands down my favourite games ever... and always will be I'm pretty sure.
I've bought the majority of their games on release with the last being Doom (4)

A very loyal fan and yet I don't get to try their latest game.

....I'll still buy it though

that is all you need, if you want structure and explaining to nobodies, it took 2 years, with all the math, and people still don't get how it works

This is more like a closed technical test - we're focusing on backend stability and we expect some issues, we just need to scale up number of people active over time so we can gain confidence in our systems.

Seeing the excitement for QC is super encouraging for us but I also know that it's disappointing to not get an invite immediately. If you did get an invite, don't share anything outside of the private Bethesda forums. Please - BE COOL - otherwise we can't do this in future and that'll hurt our ability to make sure things work before we launch.

If you didn't get an invite, know that we intend to scale up the invites and I wouldn't worry about whether you'll eventually get in. Hopefully the servers don't immediately catch on fire tomorrow and we can start scale up rapidly to find issues, but, the point of this test is to find out. Sorry I can't be more specific than that yet.

Hopefully it won't be long before everyone can play.

I don't understand... I got an email a week ago saying:

"Hi

Then when I clicked on the link it took me to a page saying:

"CONGRATULATIONS!

You are now signed up for the Quake Champions Closed Beta Test. Keep an eye on your email for your personal invite."

However I didn't get any other emails since, is it normal?

It's not so much being like OW. It's just that they think kids like highly saturated colours. They did the same thing with Diablo 3.

As I look through the videos, I see it is mostly in the HUD and items, which makes sense because you want those to stand out. It might not be half as bad with a simplified HUD. :D

Tried and uninstalled already. I am not 10 anymore to get pleased with any arty-barty noisy color arts and simplistic gameplay. Despite the consistent characters, weapons and spells and the decent sword fighting system Elder Scrolls Online is a kitsch because it combines rpg elements with modern computer mechanics, like they build ugly maps that show your position on them and spells are recharging almost automatically, and movement speed is way too fast for a rpg world, enough for me not to play the game.

This worked for me..(launcher just timed out when trying to download it from the link provided)

So get it here...

Then it connected and updated the Bethesda launcher and downloaded the game with no problems. It took about an hour in total but this was last midnight. Servers probably quite busy at the moment.
