Since i discovered quake (back in 2001, with quake 3 arena) I played prolly only 50 TDM games in total :D

TDM is my least favorite gametype, for serveral reasons.

I'll try to explain why.

Let's start with what i like in this gametype 1st:

- it's a team mode, but still rewards individual skills quite a lot
- it has a fair amount of teamplay
- quad/battlesuit runs are always interesting to watch and do
- i like the fact that you have to control some aeras within the map, with each player having basically his kind of specific role (controling 1 weapon, 1 armor etc)
- it's based of amount of frags, not a specific objective that you have to achieve
- if it's not dm6 4v4, usually the maps are well designed and rather big, living room for more strategies and giving more freedom to the players

Now i'll try to explain why i dislike this gametype:

- too much MG fest
- if you're unstacked and got a bad spawn, you spam MG and are pretty sure to die in a matter of seconds
- you can't get fully stacked like for example at duel, which means basically that if you got a SG, you just have to hit ALL the shots, if you got a railgun, you have to be ultra defensive, and hit & run, don't miss a single shot, which sounds rather boring to me
- what usually happens before a powerup's spawn (quad/battlesuit) is basically a chaotic spam fest @ 1 area, can be random at times, even with best possible coordination/team play
- the gametype is too hardcore, not noob-friendly enough for my taste. And a gametype can be noob-friendly but still hard to master
- it's a bit too much about rail & sg
- lg is rather weak, cause not enough ammos + not enough stack + takes too much time to kill someone compared to rail or sg, and hard to chase the opponents if they're running away from you
- learning all the huge and complex maps takes a shitton of time, and i'm too lazy for it :), and on top of that you have to take into consideration your team m8s positions etc, so basically learning plenty of complex maps + good teamplay takes like forever to start to get decent/good at it, that's why i said it's a too hardcore gametype and thus not that appealing to me
- i rather play CTF, where there's a real objective and teamplay matters more (without lowering the importance of individual performance, depending on your role within your team)
- there's no real team coordination except at quad/battlesuit, i mean, most of the time you either got a favorable spawn or a fucked up spawn, and have to find by yourself what kind of move you have to do in order to take the most effective way out of that situation
- experience is what matters the most at TDM (because the maps are huge, there is plenty of different spawns, you have to learn everything, that + taking care of your team m8s), for example noctis or latrommi don't necesseraly have the best combat-skills ever but they basically know every single situation that can happen to them, and make their way out of it in the most effective way
- etc

tbh i rather play CTF or even 4v4 Sacrifice. I think that when there's an objective other than fragging only, things become more clear, more fun, easier to understand.

TDM is all about making do with limited resources and not always having the best weapon for the situation. It's the survival mode of Quake IMO---unlike, say, FFA, where you can just keep storming the enemy over and over. Coming from CA to TDM is the hardest thing because of that.

You'd enjoy QC TDM more because of the short weapon respawn time. It's just annoying as fuck having people bullrush, vomit, and ghostwalk the Quad.

He4rTL3sS is a nick made in 1999 or something, when I was still a kid and it looked good to add numbers etc in your nick back in the days, looked like same "haxxor fashion". Kept it until then cause i'm too lazy to change and even if it looks like "OMFG 360° NOSCOPE@ XBOX1" (c) random 14 year old kid, I don't give a fuck :D. And tbh i like the way people make jokes about my nick or think i'm a random kid lost on the internet (at least in my head :p).

Nowadays tho when i play starcraft, overwatch(long time no play this shit game :D), reflex, ql, Might & Magic Heroes VII, etc, i always use the nick "Heartlesss", looks cooller and less retarded. Hrtls looks good too, i use it sometimes in QL.

Atm i'm in a center located in Paris (i live near Paris) called "Mogador", i go there 5 times a week, and it will basically lead to work, at least i'm working for it atm :).
