From Quake 3 onwards, there might have been some notable names from Denmark in team modes, but never a top name in duel. Why is that so? Is it something about the scene? Genuinely curious.
Zeicon/Ze1con (q3/q4) and brescia (q3) come to mind.
Ze1con didn't really compete much, but he did practice with Swedish pros regularly doing just fine. He made it to the final of GamingEye (losing a close final to Fazz) in Q3 and Socrates cited him as his main training partner after beating Cooller in the final of the TransAtlantic Showdown in Q4.
Brescia competed in some big LAN tournaments like ESWC. I think he fell to Keeper and Fazz in the EWSC Master's Cup. He was also part of the Danish national duel squad.
duel has most of the time been looked down upon in the Danish scene. Ra3 and tdm players mostly made fun of the +b duel only players. So I guess a few people was really motivated to play duel that seriously. Could explain why dk teams have been successful in comparison.
