You can use a PS/2 keyboard like any sane bruvanski.

ps/2 can't send enough power for mechanical keyboards and RGB LED's

Almost all the better mechanical keyboards have PS/2 as well and even the manufacturers encourage you to use that for best experience.

because windows will cycle through your USB ports 1 by 1, it does'nt really matter on your latency, because windows is'nt a realtime operating system,

if you are using your I/O USB ports on your motherboard and using 4 ports, your latency queue can end up being 40ms instead of 4ms, and over the hours, your USB queue just becomes random

get a 1:1 internal hub backplate and it should fix all of that when using USB, if it does'nt, get a good motherboard

Or get PS/2, and your keyboard will work based on interrupts.

easier to get a back plate, they fix midi controllers and audio interfaces, they fix keyboards with a bigger selection in the shops

I think buying one or the other has the exact same difficulty level (if a keyboard is not even easier to get a hold of). : D

not really, you have another constant that lasts alnight if you have a fiber connection, and you can't complain about rubbish netcode when your latency on your keyboard or mouse messes up your client prediction and you miss with your LG or RG

USB latency on your motherboards I/O plate are ready 1 by 1, and over a few hours your latency on each port becomes random

each USB host in windows will cycle through each port separately

if you have a 1:1 backplate, you have a single port to a single internal connection which is also a single USB host so windows will only have that single port to read on that connected host

the backplate has 2 ports and needs to internal connections, which is 2 USB hosts

if you mouse drivers polling rate is 1000mhz, your latency will alway be 1ms alnight with 1 port connected as a single host because windows won't cycle through any other ports

I meant more the OP than that particular page. It's about USB polling and I really doubt some backplate will help more than the main tweaks suggested​ in that thread.
Maybe you haven't explained it properly but I can't see how that backplate is different to connecting a couple of front ports to a USB header on the motherboard.

it depends on how many USB ports are being used on a multiport host, like usb hdd, fans, midi controllers, soundcards, HD webcams.. etc etc etc all on at the same time

if you I/O plate is abit like that, then your mouse and keyboard, and midi controllers, will have random latency, and your best off having a single port back plate
