I watched the tournament this sunday, and I'm quite interested in seeing this cup as well.

I feel QC duel is actually entertaining to watch, and I feel that - despite the game being much simpler now - it also tend to stick to the interesting bit that was previously known as contested control. There's also very powerful exploits that can turn things around very quickly. So, purely as a spectator, this is fun to watch.

For players, I'd be curious to hear what pros think. I suspect the game may give you little time to ever relax or feel totally dominant, which may be more stressful, and I can imagine that the kind of rage you had with telefrags now will be there much more often due to champion abilities.

I think cypher will win this.

Cypher was always the best player when it comes to play out of control. Toxjq was the best in Q4 - new designed quake - that is what suits him. I think the best "out of control" player can beat him especially now in QC where your opponent is not 200/200 all the time anymore when your opponent is in control. I need to point out that cypher has pretty much the same aim as tox has in QC. Hes having insane LG and rail aim not to mention that he still hit very good rockets as he did in Quake Live.

We will see but my predictions are:

On the other hand, Clutch is kind of amazing with this jump + dodge + jump + doge... mechanic. He can do it while in the air, though momentum matters due to his 'weight' I presume. Maybe it'll take some tweaking but it looks pretty cool to me

cooller will be able to use that to the max, always had unorthodox dodge anyway :D

yeah, kind of amazing - but the tankiest champion being also one of the fastest ones is kinda overpowered, don't you think?

I am not sure it's fair to say that. Clutch was kind of useless with his slow acceleration and speed coupled with his huge hit box.

He does make that jump to RL on the new DM6 though. Kind of crazy

I hope so, getting too old to properly compete in high level duel (or invest the time in it). TDM gives me at least a chance to still compete above average but seems there is no love for it so far.

Because QC TDM is a joke as it is now.


It needs proper TDM maps and proTDM ruleset - among other things.
