You can get visa with criminal record though, as long as in the last 5 years you didn't serve over 6 months in prison for a crime with maximum penalty of over 1 year, if I understand correctly.
I'm not saying Av3k has been convicted of anything, just that it wouldn't be a problem.
Weird, I assume Cypher's denial of visa is related to weed cuz he likes it + friend of avek so he may have been caught with it in the US or something (it was not uncommon to smoke in tourneys afaik). So Av3k getting his place is ironic... but this is all 100% speculation
lol
Well, it's 100% legal in 50% of the places. Besides, if they catch u in the airport with it, u'r busted either way. I'm not saying it happened, it's just speculation, but it's plausible.
People should really stop talking about av3k and his 'criminal record'. I see it being spammed on twitch and mentioned on ESR everytime there's something about Av3k. I wouldn't be suprised if certain teams are hesitant to give him a contract when they know about this reputation. Who knows what VP will do if they notice people keep mentioning it.
The only fact we know is that yes he was initially arrested, but there's no evidence of what his part in the thing was, or that he was found guilty or prosecuted at all. He's got a VISA to the USA so I guess it isn't all as big of a deal as people initially thought.
The more often people keep repeating this stuf on twitch, people will continue looking it up and spread this stuff in streams, which is really shitty for av3k.
Jelly, mediocre players trying to shit on a successful FPS wonder. They try to spam it everywhere so maybe as you said, they fuck up his career and they can feel a little better about being jelly, mediocre players.
Tbh I think it's not so much because of jealousy or that they intentionally want to do bad, but I think a lot of people just think it's enjoyable to spread these rumors for the sake of drama, and just not realizing it can harm his career and even personal life in some ways.
regardless of your nationality or renown, if there is a shade on your public display you can be sure that some people are going to milk it just for sake of feeling better about themselves
I am waiting for gbmaster and co to start crying out loud that avek shouldnt be allowed to take home his prize money and donate it to homeless shelter instead (prefferably british one since they got so massively butthurt over his outrageous exploits), got my popcorn ready
You know, he could just come out and make a public statement about the status of things to clear up the situation. That is by far the easiest and most efficient way to solve the issue of his "criminal record" being talked about. I know that the legal limits on what he can disclose are probably pretty narrow, but surely if he is clean of any charges and not convicted to anything, he can publicly declare that?
edit: actually, http://esreality.com/post/2769038/update-on-a...pid2769786
So basically the only thing he did is having and consuming marijuana at home. And he was legally allowed to publicly disclose that (he wouldn't have done so otherwise). Maybe he should remind people of this again.
