Back when (pro) gaming was still some sort of a niche and more for nerds/social outcasts. LAN-parties used to feel magical with everyone you would've been shittalking on forums or playing online coming to LAN, including your friends and it would feel like a safe-haven and disputes would be settled within 2 seconds after a handshake.

Before this Reddit/liberal generation addicted to social mediums and hook-up apps, before people were clustered to their phones 24/7, before gaming was mainstream. Contact felt more pure and sincere. Women were less narcissistic and didn't get enabled to slut around so much like today. Also, men weren't such pushovers when it comes to women. Knife cuts both ways and men need to start acting like men again to reverse this travesty that's currently happening.

Back when aspiring to be a pro-gamer actually took way more work compared to modern times since there were no streaming possibilities or large sponsorships like today. One had to be übergood at their game to be able to sustain themselves with gaming solely. Nowadays games are more accessible and there are plenty of ways to make content and earn money, even with sub-par showing of skill/talent.

Back when times were just better, not just for the sake of nostalgia. It was just better. There was more rivalry, more national teams, more (good) drama, bigger drive to perform. People were less self-centered and more genuine. Nowadays it feels like we're landed in a society of individualism and mediocrity. People barely care about others, or only care if they can gain something out of it. This could also be my age (26) though and something I spot in my age-bracket, but tbh it's a trend that seeped through everywhere. Where's the love?

Real life friends, one even became a roommate; we used to go to amsterdam to hit the blunt and get drunk af together and missing the last trains home & lots more stuff. Good times.

Being manly is taking responsibility for your actions. Being able to stand up for your rights and your beliefs. Taking risks and having courage when the odds are against you. Being able to protect the ones that are dear to you, being able to take leadership in the areas that are expected of you.

But most important of all, to be unbound of other people's opinion/judgement about you - being able to stay rational and keep your integritiy instead of being emotionally pliable like women are. The latter is the main thing that sets men apart from boys and women. I'm not saying you shouldn't avoid emotions at all, because one should stay in touch with his feelings to be able to know whom he is + feelings should never be ignored. But there is a time and place for everything, a real man knows how to manage his emotions, when to show them and when not to, when to take them seriously and when not to, when to be vulnerable according to the situation and when to maintain composture. Showing weakness can be a strength, and admitting you're wrong is also taking responsibility and showing integer.

A man is made to be the pillar/foundation of a family. Someone people can build and lean on. It's not only physical strength or a certain hormonal profile that makes men, men, but something that comes from a higher place in my opinion.

We should all strife to become mature and stay in touch with our inner selves to try to get these qualities to become manifest. Society needs it, the family unit needs it, we all need it. It has nothing to do with misogyny or chauvinism.
