We all know most of Quake pros put all their eggs into the esports basket and over the years managed to earn as much as they would on minimum wage. Actually, if they worked a minimum wage job, they'd at least have some money in their pensions fund.

Nobody's denying that you can beat "pro quakers" at an aspect of quake - you've proven that you can. But what exactly is that aspect? It's a public game. I've never said FFA was a "joke mode" - it's the fact that you're playing on servers that total noobs who don't know their arse from their elbow can join. You don't understand - what you're doing certainly requires *some* level of ability to play Quake, but it doesn't in any way make you professional (or are you earning money from videogaming?) or elite. I could do what you've done and I don't even consider myself "good" at Quake, imagine how the many people on ESR who are significantly better than you would perform if they tried.

First of all, I play different champions for different maps, Sorlag is one of them which is obviously an advantage on Lockbox, and I have recently picked up Anarki after they have fixed him and I'm enjoying playing him a lot. I guess I'm an abuser.

Ranger used to be my main champion even though I bought the champions pack, but I mostly play him on Burial chamber, so I have played Sorlag slightly more recently. I'm even try to learn clutch even though I disliked him a lot from the start but he is a very fun character to play.

You live in Wales and offer money in $? Is 50£ or 500 sek too much for you or what? I'll gladly play you again but you don't have to pay money for it, just keep playing and I'll find you in game sooner or later.

Lastly I'm just gonna ask you, if Sorlag is OP and ABUSIVE, and tox is one of the best players in the world, does this match me up or even make me better than him?

If I'm going to play someone with money at stake or pride, I would rather know a time and day and be prepared, sometimes I don't play for 7-10 days, and it would not be fair (for me or you) if I just joined a FFA server for the first time in a week, and you/I beat me when I'm out of sync, or just testing, or the game is running terrible as it was over the last few weeks.

I'm pretty active atm and the game seems "OK", to the point where I only need a few hours notice, so I'm happy to play tonight or over the next few days.

If we play, we must both type official into the chat, so when either of us take a screen, there's no doubt it was played with intention.
I will also record my screen. If someone disconnects, they lose.

I don't think tox is a heavy sorlag player, so while beating him is always good, I don't think you got the real tox.

Also tox wasn't a heavy Sorlag player - but he's a pro and according to you whoever is playing Sorlag is an abuser - he is also a good sportsman never going for quad, only taking it if he manage to frag the quadcarrier. This is context, a winning screenshot don't say anything.

in all honesty, given I have no intention of playing slash or anarki, I don't feel its possible to beat a top anarki or slash player in FFA.

They just have too much advantage due to the ground they can cover, and they are relatively difficult nature to kill due to hit boxes, especially now due to the LG and of course their quadrun potential with the above is A*.

The 100m sprint is the most special event, but that's not to say that those who do long jump are any less special.

I worked a long time to get this good and showed great character to come back from my LAN upset in 2006.

I focused hard for a year to get back into FPS to reach pro status, and I did it, there is no harder FPS challenge than to win against quake pros. Sure its harder to win at duel than FFA, but you can say that about any mode in FFA.

Winning at quake vs pros in any mode is still elite.

I do think cooller and others made a bad financial decision when going full-time pro at Quake, rather than also doing something else on the side. Quake just doesn't bring much money to the table, and especially doesn't bring stability. That is not an offense and also that doesn't mean I'm not a cooller fanboy, but the opposite because I know it takes guts to make a decision like that.

For example I happen to know some world champions Chile has produced, in games much more popular than Quake. From their experiences, I don't think it's a good idea to conduct your life in a way that your basic living depends on the results of one tournament (of a game that doesn't have millions in it like LoL, Dota2 or Poker), let alone living in a survival state along the lines of "And when people told him, Chill out, it’s just a game? I remember cooller himself talked about the matter, in an interview some years ago. The "McDonalds salary" line comes straight from his mouth; it isn't mine. Plus, I've also heard many players thinking of they are going to have to reinvent themselves in their mid 30s once they cannot win anymore, getting a new way of living from scratch. Those two are quite scary thoughts as an adult.

I guess you don't understand those things, provided you are given a roof by your brother and are desperate to get attention on an internet forum, and that's why you think I'm somehow disrespecting people when talking about personal finances. I haven't played SF since 2 but I'm thinking of picking up 4 or 5. Is there any point in playing 4 since 5 has been out for sometime?

I played SF5 for about 40 minutes and got a steam refund.
Felt unfinished, might be better now, but its got lowish marks for a SF game. Metacritic score of 77 is not good for street fighter 5 as the most of the 4's were 90+.

The 4th series was good and I'm sure you'll still get games online.
