your cm/360 shouldn't be off when doing a slow test

Just last week it hit me that I didn't reapply mousefix for W10 and after doing it it's clear that its a huge effect in QC feels much like QL does with raw input. Mousefix should only work in games that do not use raw input

But 100% it did something, for now its for worse since I cant hit any of the shots after 700+ games without it.

it should have absolutely no change on QC mouse input from what I know. Maybe you got a huge placebo

Why do you need the fix?
If you don't know you need it, then you don't need it!

Some older games, such as Half-Life 1, Counter-Strike 1.x, Quake, Quake 2, Unreal and others, while they are active and running, call a Windows function intending to disable variable mouse acceleration by forcing ALL movement to be accelerated by the same amount (doubled).
On Windows 2000 and earlier, that removed all variable acceleration.
Pointing and aiming in those games was OK, because the mouse response was then linear (all movement was accelerated by the same amount; it was doubled).

In XP, and later Windows versions, Microsoft changed how mouse pointer acceleration worked.
Now when those games call the function (asking that all movement be accelerated), Windows enables the mouse 'Enhance pointer precision' feature, which adds mouse acceleration using a varying curve to control the mouse response. (It enables it even if you have it turned off in the Control Panel Mouse settings.)

With 'Enhance pointer precision' enabled, slower mouse movements make the pointer go extra slow and faster mouse movements make the pointer go extra fast. It is not linear and not straightline.

This is annoying, because where you are aiming at depends on how far you move your mouse, and also on how fast you moved the mouse to aim.

QC does not have raw input, the second I put it on the difference was clear, QC felt instantly much more like QL then what it was.

I have been using Mark Cs fix for quite some time, I just usually don't play shit games that don't have raw input.

Originally I put it down to QC being different scale and engine but it is just the input.

I can tell the difference between 500hz and 1000hz polling rate instantly and or zowies 3310 verses logitechs 3366, some people say they can't.

The markc fix is removing OS level acceleration, it doesn't effect any game that uses raw input.
QC currently isn't using raw input therefore it can be effected, but I haven't heard of anyone testing it properly yet.

If you're looking to compete though, don't use it, it won't be allowed at any competition LAN so you'd be at a disadvantage having to re-learn to aim.

i've only heard of windows 8 having acceleration with 'enhance pointer precision' off. If the mousefix does anything on windows 7/8.1/10 on any game newer than quake 2, then I would like to know. tons of people seem to praise it in situations where it shouldn't have be having an effect

My understanding is that QC uses DirectInput. The devs have stated this at one point in the past. I doubt it has changed.

Control Panel mouse settings have no effect on DirectInput.

I believe MarkC is only for making very old games designed to work on Windows 2000 or earlier work properly on newer versions of Windows.

Those games try to disable acceleration in a way that worked on the older OS, but that method actually enables it on the newer OS even if you have "enhanced pointer precision" not selected, creating the need for the MarkC fix to flatten the acceleration curve that is used when that happens.

Your summary is correct. It used to be an issue with games like the first Counterstrike and similar, but newer games are not affected. Pretty much only games that came out shortly after windows XP release and older use the windows settings, unless the devs were lazy or didn't care. The accel fix is useful for replaying very old titles though.

Hey i am using windows 10, mouse acceleration is off, mouse sensitivity 6/11 and i disabled mouse smoothing - it is called mouse curve in registry.
And i disabled dynamic tick.
I don't use mark mouse fix, i don't have what for, but i am interest in mouse movement recorder.
When i open this application i get from time to time green and red rectangles.
I tested it in game with raw input on/off and in windows and it still happen.
I can do decent circles with mouse, but not sure if my mouse movement is 1:1, because all bullshit around.

It’s still need, this old games or games with the same engine use fixed mouseparms. Even if you use rawinput the engine is still handling the mouseparms and so is your sensitivity affected.
