Specs are kind of generically stated. "optical sensor that has true 16,000 DPI and true tracking at 450 Inches Per Second (IPS), Resolution Accuracy of 99.4%" (which I will only use 1/10 of that dpi at most), mechanical switches (but doesn't state which ones)

It's pretty much his job, even though he is not a pro he is kinda in the same boat as the pros when it comes to talking good things about QC. Personally I think the game is fun, especially with all the different movement mechanics (hate the speed caps though) but the game is almost unplayable atm with all the 'bugs'.

I'm not gonna speak for him, but if I were in his shoes relying my income on making mouse reviews and testing them on games such as quake, I would say nice things about QC as well.

No love here, that's for sure. What should I love in a game which is vastly inferior to its predecessors in every possible regard? Was bored af, might as well play it (mainly rofl'TDM', almost 500 of it) - hating on something without having detailed first-hand knowledge about it is not authentic.
Btw haven't launched it for weeks now, only watched a single VOD of QCon, absolutely no care for DH or 125fps 'duel' cups either while they are featuring this abomination.

Why though? You know I bought CS GO once and I think I have 2 hours spent on it and never touched it again because when I consider a game "horseshit" I don't want any part of it.

You got everything now from an acquaintance (friend?) that you have no need of and don't really wish to be part of? I also find this wording funny because instead of saying that you got all the champions, you also add you got 3 reliquaries and a Nyx skin - THANK GOD, everything important in quake.

My conclusion here is that you have a love / hate relationship with QC even if you try your best to deny it and even coming up with Jamerio like excuses of doing so. :)

As I said, that doesn't justify the sugarcoating, since mice have nothing to with Quake Champions (or any game for that matter).

Kinda similar in a way to the instances when you watch a totally embarrassing (embarrassing even for the viewers, not just for the actors / contestants) show on TV / YT / any media to pity some unbecoming fucks or get some sad lolz. In the end, you might lose even more hope in humanity, but you might feel a bit better about yourself. You could call it a twisted way of mild self-gratification.

I was giving it a FAIR chance (maybe TOO fair of a chance, since it's called 'Quake' in name, so that's just me being hopeful / mildly naive, even though I knew it wasn't gonna change - not fundamentally, at least), same as before the bigger updates.

Regarding QL, in the last few months, I almost exclusively play pickups only.
Since I mostly play TDM / CTF or FFA by choice, pub is completely butchered now in my perception, in more than one way and I don't have a need for that. You know, running around on an almost empty server or on retarded maps with 43523 player (mostly even noobs) - because nowadays, that's pub QLFFA for you 90% of the time, while pubTDM is literally non-existent. And CA is not Quake either.

When there were no QL pickups on the horizon (which is true for the larger part of any given day) and I wanted something that's remotely Quake, I played QC instead - rather than QL pub FFA (as I meantioned above, it's not like how it was once) or pub CA or going vs. QL bots offline.
There were a few occasions when I could have played QL pickups instead, but I was too stoned / too tired and I didn't feel up to a match with a more serious tone where I actually have to (/ WANT TO) try. Since QL pub is below the world, I went for QC.
Not that it was any better in either of the cases in the end, but whatever. Quite sad that we came to this.

Also quite a few friends playing it (while neglecting QL, so fu bastards) and I'd like to have some games with them together every once in a while. He doesn't like it better than QL - basically it's just way more accessible for him as a 'Quake' atm.

For the end of the post, here's a little wishful thinking on my part, proving how much I "love" QC; I hope there will be a QL renaissance when this shit finally starts dying (money stops pouring in). )

Agreed on this one, I don't even really mind the abilities anymore as long as they are decently balanced and not too OP aka guaranteed a frag when using them, but the overall experience with lags, framedrops, mid-game joins, crashes and the list goes on makes it an incredibly inconvenient experience.

The lack of customization, huds / crosshairs, shitty graphics (the game is ugly imo), lootboxes and skins etc adds to the factors and takes away a lot of what makes Quake "Qauke".

Overall I see potentional in QC if they actually start fixing what is broken instead of focusing on more cosmetics and shit features like changing weapon upon pickup. If the game gets an healthy playerbase and most details and bugs are fixed I believe it will actually be a fun game and good experience, and I bet even you will be playing it then even though it will never be as pure as previous Quake titles.

Also your friend could have given that redeem code to a person who actually enjoys playing or are interested in QC, but I guess it was his choice, and yours to accept it so whatever.

He reviews mice with both QL and Quake Champions because he prefers that type of gameplay. To each their own I say.. I'm not a big QC fan but I don't go around slinging shit to people that enjoy things I do not either. I am a quake fan, and I like mouse reviews from people who play it because it is typically the most demanding game on a mouse's performance. I also come to ESR to talk about mice because it's full of quake fans too.. there's some good advice around these parts if you wade through the garbage long enough =)

I don't need advice on mice, but yeah, you can find a few relevant threads with the right technical approach here.

The sensor on Basilisk, Lancehead TE, and DA Elite is Razer's version of the 3360 chip, basically the best you can currently find. In terms of tech specs the Basilisk, and the other 2 mentioned, are all good mice. The quirks of the Basilisk are its weight and the shape, especially the extended ledge on the left side. These 2 factors make it obvious it's not a mouse many serious users will like.

The real problem is the fuckery with their Synapse software. Even though it's better now than its first impressions, there's still a lot of dumb shit going on. One example is how the tracking often differs a bit on factory settings vs Synapse settings. Also, the older DA Chroma for example could save settings on the mouse and you could then remove Synapse, but this isn't possible with DA Elite.

Coming from a G400s shape, I think you have a chance of liking this mouse, but like most other purchases, only order it if you have the ability to return it with ease.

Thanks for the reply. This mouse also has the ability to install synapse once for setup and then uninstall it, saving settings to onboard memory. One of the things that made me consider it, honestly. Havent heard good things about that software, but then again, people also talk shit about logitech's mouse software and I've never had a problem with it either.

Glad to know the sensor is on par with the 3360. I have a 15 day return policy if I order it, I think I'm just gonna go for it. I appreciate your time answering this.

The Basilisk will only save DPI and polling rate on the mouse memory, the rest require Synapse.

I've spent some time playing Quake Champs, it felt horrendous I waited for patch after patch, it got worse in the last one.

Played some Quake Live and it felt awesome. I haven't touched Quake Champions since then.
